Pro-Palestinian protests across U.S. university campuses continued over the weekend, and even interfered with several commencement ceremonies, as graduates ripped up their diplomas, or interrupted ceremonies with chants and flags.

Despite agreeing to end their on-campus encampments after 14 days of demonstrations, students from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, too, continued their protests.

“We promise to never forget these horrible crimes that Israel has committed,” one student yelled. “And we remember that all of this did not start on Oct. 7, but has been ongoing for the past 76 years,” she added.

Other schools saw interference from pro-Israel counter-protesters wanting to put an end to the pro-Palestinian demonstrations and encampments.

Additionally, dozens of graduates at Duke University in Durham, N.C., walked out of their own commencement ceremony in protest on Sunday, when comedian Jerry Seinfeld was announced and brought out as the guest speaker.

Seinfeld has been vocal about his support for Israel since its war against Hamas began on Oct. 7, after the militant group killed 1,200 Israelis and captured roughly 250 more. Since then, Israel has vowed to destroy the group and as of Monday, more than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed in its ensuing war in Gaza.

Peaceful protest is fine. Disrupting major life moments for others is completely disrespectful

Not a US, Canadian or an Ontario problem - at least it shouldn't be. The middle east - bringing everyone down for millennia with their countless conflicts.

I do not understand all the shouting for free Palestine. The only Palestine which exists on the map is a city near Dallas TX and it is quite free.
