I think the strings really add another level of beauty to this already amazingly beautiful song.

I had seen him three times before, but this was definitely his best version of 'Yesterday'.The Kronos Quartet really added a nice element to the song. :)
-
Still great afterallthese years with Kronos smartly sticking right to the original arrangement and laying into it beautifully once again showing their willingness and openness to good music anywhere it takes them on our planet.
-
Well done - your capture of this wonderful performance. It's an anthem really. It's a cool and weird song with it's seven bar structure. It's going to be 50 years this coming February when they conquered America. Rock on, Paul.
-
after 48 years finally we can see the original chords!
-
This made me cry. I got pretty up close, but my phone battery ran out. One thing off the bucket list!
-
First time! Although, Kronos did also join The National, the previous band on stage. That was definitely planned, so perhaps Paul decided he would also like a string section.
-
Can you imagine being able to be on the same stage with Paul McCartney? Awesome!
-
I can't recall exactly (there may have been a second song), but I only recorded one with them, unfortunately. Kronos Quartet are pretty popular in SF, by the way.
-
so beautiful, I'm crying

Thank you so much for posting this! Wish I had been there. Just saw Kronos live - wish they had done this for an encore!!
-
Listening to this to get me through this Monday. Wish I was back at OSL!
-
Thank you. I use a Lumix ZS-19. There's a newer model out there, but that one records in mono, while my older one is stereo.
-
Half a century later and still playing it.
-
This is actually really sad. Paul is like a singalong leader.
-
I have about four more from the show, but they are all online already :)
-
Gah! You were so much closer than I was! I was to the left of the big lighting rig, wish I'd have got that close
-
It was the only song with Paul, though they did perform with The National early that day.
-
Glad you liked it!

Well he is 71 years old. With age the voice does change over time.
