Under the sea, down where it's wetter, down where it's better.

  • 1:09 never noticed it before, but the carving on the side of that dome. Is that the Atlanteans banishing X'tulish?!
  • I think that the Mystically Defended Wall targets the Kraken I presume because from the various other cards, it looks like the kraken is just local megafauna that's wrecking stuff. Or more likely, given that it destroys Hero AND Villain Ongoings, the thing is probably going "Run Subroutine: Identify Creatures. If Atlantean==True, ignore it Else: Eradicate it with slight prejudice" Regardless, love the spotlight on Environments. Personally, I rather found the EE Environments to be either a self-contained conflict that you and the Villain stepped into or second Villain deck that called itself the Environment to appear as a neutral. Much prefer the overall design overhaul they've gotten so far in DE. They even actually have One-Shots and Ongoings! No more River of Lava that play Obsidian Field and then destroy themselves!

Pre watch comment: I think the ruins of atlantis turned from the worst environment in EE to my favourite in DE. For megalopolis’s flaws the pillars, kraken, conduit, seaweed and leaking room really took the cake for my games. Sometimes megalopolis has interesting cards or a breather. Not the ruins of atlantis. DE though I love the ruins, the pillars became a neat risk reward if you have the right hero team, leaking room is only 1/2 as annoying, the kraken feels far more like a neutral 3rd party with its maw involved and even the new trial is really awesome in design as it’s sometimes wonderful and sometimes deadly. Anyway time to watch your video

6:41 sometimes the ritual means you have to deal less damage or more area damage or self damage to get its bonus. Not much but something

I would defend "The Kraken" and "Collapsed Hallway". These cards aren't discriminatory (as in, they only go after heroes or villains), so they're fun to work around.

1:31 I still wouldn’t introduce players with the ruins. Just for different reasons
