My favorite thing about this video is how quick the 20th century goes by. Really puts the perspective into how the last 200 years are just a flash of light
  • Fun fact: at the height of the Roman Empire according to this video it had 52 million people. No European country would get to this number until 1827 when Russia did. This record was kept for almost 2,000 years

The way the Hunnic Empire just appeared, killed Rome and then disappeared still baffles me.

Imagine how many people die every time some area changes color.
  • Puts into perspective how stable Rome was for so long compared to other empires.

i come back to this video so often. so much history and feels like i notice something new each time
  • When the Roman empire was rising the Macedonian empire was falling, whereas when the Macedonian empire was at its peak the Roman empire was just a little piece of land. It shows that every star has its own shining time
  • Portugal: just chilling. Poland: wars with all neighbors every 5 years.

From 751 - 1804, I love the way tiny Venice just sat there saying, "Oh don't mind us, and can I interest you in a new boat?" 😆

0:11 Aw, look at that little red dot in Italy, it's so cute. 2:42 oh holy shi-
  • WW1 and WW2 being 2 seconds long gave me a lot of perspective on how much crap actually went on through out history
