The replicants right eye twitches when he is told to choose a life between wallace or his own as if he wants to rebel but has to obey. Great acting from everyone in this short.

The guy has the average of killing one replicant per monologue. No wonder he can't populate the universe.

What makes Wallace such a terrifying villain is his unshakable belief that the things he does are necessary. He is all about Purpose and if you have no purpose in his great plan you are to be removed. He doesn't even hate you really he just doesn't need you. He's like some kind hyper-intelligent hive-minded insect that only looks like a human being.

have you noticed something? the entire series put an emphasis on eyes as a symbol of humanity. you know, because eyes are the window to the soul...Wallace here is blind, yet presents himself as a an all knowing god of biotechnology. he can afford to have surgery to cure himself, but refuses, instead replacing his eyes with cold machinery later in 2049. its almost as if he views humanity as beneath him, and therefore wants to remain blind to it due its inherent impurity. he also refers to his creations as "angels", meaning his idea of being this new scientific god is to create his version of perfect life: devoid of humanity, cold, and completely obedient to him.

David Bowie was considered to play Wallace but he passed away too early...RIP

Could he not have used PowerPoint or the results of a survey arranged in a nice pie chart to get his point across.
  • "Thank you Mr. Wallace, you may can see yourself out-..." "Why thank you, I uh, can someone show me where the door is, my servant. I mean replicant is dead, I need some help finding me way home..."

Jared sometimes gets hate cause of the 5 mins he played Joker on screen but he was perfection in Blade Runner, a movie with an actual good script, good direction, and good characterization to allow his talent to shine through.

"You don't have children, do you." "Oh I HAVE MILLIONS." Leto's best line in the film. He nailed Wallace.
  • I just have one thing to say about this scene: Jared Leto is absolutely phenomenal as an actor in Blade Runner 2049. Niander Wallace is such an intriguing character.

Trivia. In Greek Mythology the prophet/oracle Tiresias was the most powerfull of all despite the fact the he was blind. He was both male and female, he was at the present and the future at the same time, he was among the living and the dead ones and full of lust, always giving his cryptic predictions that eventually came true e.g. he told about narcissus that he would thrive as long as he didn't know himself... so tiresias became in important figure in a lot of ancient stories and tragedies. Let's see what they have taken from that myth and put into this story.

There's something about the way he talks, his cadence, that's unsettling.

Everyone is talking about how Jared Leto is amazing, but my boy Benedict Wong is in this, Benedict is the single greatest human being in all of history
