EarthCam proudly documented the construction of U.S. Bank Stadium for the Minnesota Vikings. From January 2014 to September 2016, a combination of live streaming and time-lapse construction cameras created hundreds of thousands of HD images. Our editors produced this hand-edited, award-winning 3 minute time-lapse which includes billion pixel panoramas.

“From the demolition of the beloved Metrodome to the inaugural home-opener at the game-changing U.S. Bank Stadium, it has been an honor to document this historic transformation of downtown Minneapolis,” said Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam. “We worked hand in hand with the Vikings organization to share their vision, and through this rewarding process, produced a time-lapse movie that I hope generations of Vikings fans will be proud of.”

“From day one, the stadium webcams provided Vikings fans and other curious onlookers with a detailed look at the largest construction project in Minnesota history,” said Bryan Harper, Vice President, Content & Production. “The interactive, immediate, and high quality nature of the EarthCam technology led to incredible engagement via our content platforms. The beauty of this stadium is apparent to all, and we are thrilled to forever have this project archived in this manner.”

2 1/2 years to demolish and build a new stadium is amazing. Almost as impressive as how fast the Empire State Building was built

And no mention of me, the person who installed all those cameras in the middle of fricken January. Hanging off the 50th story of a building in 40mph winds. No love for the little guy!

I remember getting a tour of the entire stadium (Pretty sure it was before the first game even happened) and being let out onto the field, and I can confirm that the stadium is absolutely gorgeous

I really like the stadium, but I like it even more because it is built on the same location as the last. It is nice to see them not wasting space.
