Nothing in the world takes me back to my childhood like the sound of young chickens. And yes I raised a couple every year in our apartment. Lovely beings.

I’m going to be completely honest, I turned 42 today and that’s the first time I’ve seen a rooster crow! Honestly it is. I hear them from home all the time but never actually seen one do it! Our cat Mazie loves this video so much as the mice got her attention and now I have this scratch mark in my bedroom drawers from her trying to climb up them! I don’t mind, it’s worth it.

I lost my favorite rooster yesterday, but for over a week prior he was in the little ICU, and this really helped keep his mind off of feeling sick and held his attention when he needed it the most. One of the more calming but enriching videos I found and held his attention from start to finish. The pretty roo in the first few seconds especially, even got a few weak but happy crows out of him, the last I ever got to hear. So thank you for sharing this video. I'm watching it with my cats right now again, to honor my sweet Kerli Fries.
