I'm wondering why the African powerhouses couldn't win today: Lack of focus? Players' fear of getting injured and losing their spots on the teams they play for in Europe? Fatigue? Scare of tournament beginnings due to nerves? Lack of adequate support from their national federations?

Great win for Cape Verde. 3 out of the 4 favorites so far have failed to win. Curious to see how Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon and Senegal do in their opening games. Tbh I don’t think Ghana will get far. They’ve been very feeble for the last years and I don’t see that changing soon
