Just give that man an ankle bracelet

So let’s argue the GTR being a track car… 1. It set a world record at the king of tracks, the Nurburgring. 2. It was R&D tested against a Porsche GT3. 3. The GTR has literal track telemetry inside of it.
-
marques calling the GTR not a track car might be the single worst take he has ever had lmao
-
Lol listening to Marques saying with full confidence that GTR is not a track car is so funny 💀
-
Claiming the GTR is not a track car is hilarious. Total ignorance of history, and completely ignoring Nismo
-
the Hakosuka GT-R was literally a homologation race car, as well as the R-32 GT-R both which dominated in their respected racing series. I would also argue the R-35 GT-R can be considered a race car as it is purpose built for speed and handling around the Nurburgring.
-
The GTR most certainly is a track car. Nissan has been involved in motorsports forever. I think Marques needs to do some research into car culture and the history behind these car brands, especially for a person that has an automotive channel…
-
Nissan never made a good track car? ..”The Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 scored the victory in every Japanese Touring Car Championship race during the 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons.”
-
Marques saying the GTR is not a track car is maybe the worst car take of all time. It literally set the nurburgring record. Which is generally the measurement of comparison for track cars. So not just a track car, but arguably the best track car. I'm not even sure I can watch autofocus anymore... So bad

The car portion of the vid was kind of tuff to listen to ngl. Forza and PlayStation 1 ? The GTR not being a track car when it set a Nurburgring record? Nissan not making a track car when the R390 exist ? Nissan competing in the GT3 class ? Nissan making batteries that last in formula E ? Love the content just some very weird takes guys.
-
This is the most non car guys talking about cars conversation I have ever heard. It was funny. Just letting you guys know that Nissan has made plenty of track cars going back a very long time. They are going through an identity crisis now, but in the past they made some incredible and revolutionary vehicles that still hold their own. Other than that great show and I love your content.

Nissan have a long, successful history in motorsport and have a lot of knowledge in how to do it. To say they've never made a track car is ignorant at best. Also, please don't take automotive concepts literally. The entire point is to define a future design direction, not literally state what cars are going to look like.

After a 16-year hiatus, the GT-R name was revived in 1989 as the BNR32 ("R32") Skyline GT-R. Group A specification versions of the R32 GT-R were used to win the Japanese Touring Car Championship for four years in a row. The R32 GT-R also had success in the Australian Touring Car Championship, with Jim Richards using it to win the championship in 1991 and Mark Skaife doing the same in 1992, until a regulation change excluded the GT-R in 1993. The technology and performance of the R32 GT-R prompted the Australian motoring publication Wheels to nickname the GT-R "Godzilla" in its July 1989 edition.[1][2] Wheels then carried the name through all the generations of Skyline GT-Rs, most notably the R34 GT-R, which they nicknamed "Godzilla Returns", and described as "The best handling car we have ever driven". In tests conducted by automotive publications, R34 GT-R have covered a quarter of a mile (402 metres) in 12.2 seconds from a standing start time and accelerated from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 4.4 seconds.

Car guys in here are SCREAMING. 😂 Nissan has never made a particularly good track car? You were literally talking about one! The GTR is a racing legend, both in straight lines and around a circuit. nissan may not have the know how to cool an elctric car down properly, but they certainly have the racing heritage needed to make a proper, nimble track car.
-
Marques needs to do a bit more digging into car culture, especially if he's writing for Top Gear Mag. Hearing him talk about the GTR 'not being a track car' and ignoring Nissan's current and past sporting prestige is so cringe.
-
GTR: has track modes, special air in the tires, and GPS that automatically removes the top speed limiter when you pull into a track. 🫡🤌 Marques: the GTR is not a track car.🤷♂️😅😂
-
Calling the GTR not a track car is downright disrespectful. Miles should take the boys for a track day.
-
Marques is right about the overheating issues with EVs on track, but Nissan buids motor powertrains for their electric Formula E team, and sell that kit to McLarens formula E team too. So they are PERFECTLY well placed to be the ones to build the first great EV track car. If stellantis group and Maserati don't get there first. Or Porsche.
-
13:12 Marques COMPLETELY forgetting Nissan's LMP Cars

I don't like jumping on "ehm akshully" bandwagons but I legitimately think this needs to be reiterated as much as possible to get the point across: From Wikipedia: " Nissan GT-R (Gran Turismo–Racing" In addition, it holds one of the fastest laps around the Nürburgring. Saying its not a track car is a really really bad take, which is fine if it wasn't said so confidently by a car reviewer. I think this is a great opportunity for Marques to take a nismo GTR around a track for a video, and hopefully come away with an experience so thrilling he titles it "I was wrong about the GTR".
