Congrats on reaching your 4 minute goal! You truly are a master of the [Diving Reflex] hidden ability. It was really fun working together on this video!
  • My brother tried this! He’s been holding it for 3 days now! So proud of him!

Mike, at this point, I don't think anyone will think you're cheating or faking. You are the most hardworking and honest person! Thanks for another great one!
  • me holding my breath outside: 2 min me holding my breath underwater: 10 seconds
  • @Mike Boyde, just want to say that this was the first video I watched when I decided I was going to hold my breath for 4 minutes. After 8 weeks of above-water training I had the opportunity to have an experienced spotter for some in-water training. I hit 4 minutes on the first attempt. This video definitely helped that seed grow, so thank you.

(Face down in the pool) "Omg Mike, you're at 7 minutes alredy! You gonna go longer?.... Mike?"
  • @kek4567
Hopefully the diving reflex isn't patched in the next update

I just wanna say you're very inspirational my guy. I'm the same when it comes to wanting to learn new things, but I never thought to record or document anything. I became both happy and sad at the thought of so many things I missed. But watching you made me realize the obvious. That there's always more to learn, and for that I thank you.

Great job man! The hard part about holding your breath is when your being active at the same time like swimming. It’s much easier to hold your breath when your calm and relaxed.
  • Man i can’t even hold my breath for as long as the Minecraft drowning bubbles
  • There’s something sooo satisfying about him saying “hour zero”
  • @MediumDSpeaks
My dad holds the world record. Been holding his breath at that breath holding competition he left to 23 years ago
  • 2 years since this video was published and I find it 11 days into my breath holding interest. I hit 4mins10secs yesterday on land without knowing about the diving reflex. This really makes me excited about unlocking longer times!

2019 is coming soon. Guess its time for that skill retaining test.

7:40 meditation is tricky. When focusing on breathe its too easy to accidentally switch to manual breathing which breaks the natural flow during meditation. Another way that is more effective is listening or feeling your heartbeat. Heartbeat is less under your control and after awhile you can actually feel every pulse throughout the entire body which is pretty cool.
  • So excited to see you acconplish your 4-minute goal! Congrats! Hoping to start today and achieve a 2 minute goal real soon!
