Crash Racers Figure 8 Track Set (Nascar Adventure Force) In-depth Review for Diecast Track Building

Published 2021-01-18
Let's check out the Nascar Adventure Force Crash Racers Figure 8 Track Set by Far Out Toys. We're going to set it up as intended but also look at the track pieces themselves w/ an eye towards building custom tracks and downhill racing. This track gives you 4 double-wide straightaway pieces and two curves that you can remove pieces to turn your figure 8 into an oval track or have two 90 degree turns for building custom layouts. They can be used for downhill or gravity custom tracks or you can build a closed circuit track and use small RC cars.

"Adventure Force" is a Walmart exclusive. However, there was a similar set at Target (no longer available) which is now on Amazon called "Crash Racers Figure 8 Circuit Race, Wreck and Rebuild. A Smyth's Exclusive Version was made for the UK, which looks like the Nascar version without the licensing.

Just got this for my son's 5th birthday. I have it all set up in his room. Just waiting for him to get home from speach therapy! 😁

I've been casually looking for something I can use as an oval race track for my Disney Cars layout. Fat track is way too expensive but this looks like a great solution. It even comes with traffic cones i can use elsewhere. Thanks for clarifying the track connections...that'll make it really easy to adapt it.

Great video! Ordering one for myself now, cannot wait to mess around and build some cool custom tracks.
  • Yeah...I'm a 64 year old kid with adult responsibilities and have 2 adult kids and 7 grandkids...hence I got the Diecast Raceing and Mod Bug...also 3DBotmaker inspired...so I bought 4 NASCAR Crash Racer Sets and put together a near scale 21' downhill drag track that is more in keeping with the oldtime Soapbox Derby kind of downhill...rather uneven...the fat track adds more realism and excitement...and drifting, both intentional and unintentional...I used a 90° rundown from the main straight and modded an X intersection as a three way intersection for super fast cars to have more rundown length that includes one half of the figure 8 for the super fast cars to use...and there are quite a number of them...the new Orange Track Stars Wheels do very well on this extended part of the track...AND to my surprise I have 1 Matchbox in the Super Fast Category...it is a '59 Coronet Police Car schemed as a Park Official...it went down the track made the 90° and negotiated the return half 8 to end up on the straight portion between the 90° and the half 8 faceing the direction it just came from ...Nice to have a $.94 Matchbox in the mix...then for fun I charge up the Crash Cars and do my version of a Pike's Peak Challenge...put them on the track facing into the half 8 so it goes through the half 8 and heads up the 'mountain'...some of those cars are kinda slow when a couple others climb lightning fast...one last note...I have most of my 'Dinkies' from childhood...I was mostly interested in Matchbox at the time...hence I only have 3 original Redlines: Hot Heap, Turbo Fire, and Peeping Bomb...Thank You for reading my lengthy comment...

Am I missing something? How do you make the cars actually go? I set them on the charger with the back end in the air and the metal parts touching. Are the wheels supposed to start spinning and then you just set it on the track? I have tried holding them on the charger for a full minute (advertisement says 10 seconds) and nothing. All the batteries are brand new.

I bought two of these sets for my downhill diecast layout. Along with a few Hot Wheels straights and a Slanman starting grid.
  • Thanks for sharing great information & video yes I started to collect all the sets & would be very interested in new set with lights & sound that would be very cool 👍🏁🏁
