Doctor Reacts To Family Guy Medical Scenes

I’ve reacted to The Simpsons and South Park medical scenes, so next up is Family Guy! Seth MacFarlane has created a funny world in Quahog, Rhode Island, but is all the medicine from Dr. Hartman accurate? Today I discuss Peter becoming a nurse, Brian donating his dog kidney, dialysis, vestigial twins, Stewie’s ADHD, teratomas, tumors both benign and malignant, House MD, Popeye, stokes, vasectomies, and the dangers of smoke. Oh, also THE CHICKEN. Lois, Chris, Meg, Brian, Stewie and Peter Griffin sure have encountered a lot of medical scenes! Which ones did I miss?

I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

The most unbelievable thing is that the griffins just walked into a doctors office without waiting 3 hours in the waiting room first
  • Fun fact: yes, that was Hugh Laurie voicing himself as Dr. House in that episode

Popeye's forearms were huge because Sailors back in the day needed incredible forearm strength to pull the sail ropes. If you look at pictures of them back in the day, their forearms weren't quite so exaugurated, but they were pretty nuts.

3:11 Dr Mike: "What's the difference between a dog kidney and a human kidney." Luckily this kind of thing is literally my speciality! I'll try to explain it and hopefully I don't sound too technical or confusing to everyone... A human kidney comes from a human. A dog kidney comes from a dog. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

The Alzheimer joke was so funny. It made sense that Dr. Mike had laughed that hard.
  • I’m that person who hates to go to see a doctor while I’m studying medicine 😂😂😂

i have had an incredibly large phobia of medical facilities nearly my entire life, im not 100% sure on where that's from but given that i've never had a bad experience save for one nurse in one hospital many years ago, i think it might be my anxiety overanalyzing everything. it makes me feel nervous to be honest with what's wrong, because i'm terrified i'll have something life threatening. watching your videos and seeing you just being a genuine person has helped me to lessen that fear, to the point of willingly going to the doctor's without needing a reward after (i used to need to be promised gross fast food to get me to the doctor lol)

Peter--"How did this happen? " Lois--"Its from smoking." Peter--"Its not that bad."

I remember one episode of Popeye, it's a teaching smoke is bad episode, Popeye said he's not smoking, it just an empty pipe and he like to blow it making his signature sound
  • Having gone through having a brain tumour in my head and repeatedly losing consciousness every day watching them reveal Brian has a brain tumour brings back some very painful memories.
  • An old instructor of mine in the navy was like a real life popeye, actually really heathy, but for some reason he worked out his forearms ridiculously compared to his biceps, now add in his default standing position was crossed arms so they were always flexed and he had propellers tattooed on his forearms, yea this man was popeye lmao.

Honestly, Dr. Hartman is legit one of the funniest characters on the show
  • Fun fact: the person playing Dr. House in Family guy IS Hugh Laurie who plays the actual Dr. House. He’s actually a pretty funny comedian.
