Peter comes back after being away for a month and is immediately in perfect sync with Ashton, that’s best friend instincts right there

1:07:12 - My favourite contributions by Ashton are just instances of her giggling at the daftest shit 😂

The price increase isn't an issue for me as a PC user, but I think it's pretty clear that instead of admitting it's always been an unsustainable model they're going to price gouge the whales who won't complain about it.

Hi guys! I discovered your podcast on Spotify :D I listen to every episode at night so I can avoid thinking about ugly adult stuff :/ Cheers from Mexico! Oh, please don't hate me but... would you ever consider changing the intro and outro jingle? When some platforms gave away free courses online whilst we were dealing with the pandemic I took a terrible one about on-camera-hosting and the dude used that stock jingle every two minutes... Vietnam flashbacks and I still love you! Keep up the good work!

"There's more than one woman!" There's not a red blooded male who lived through the original release of the Ridge Racer franchise who didn't have a thing for Reiko.

In answer to the thumb nail… no. The content value continues to grow, the new road map of games is insane and generally the most faux outrage is coming from the blue side of the fence where they get a huge price hike and… … …straight ports of a couple of PS2 games that can be played better almost anywhere.

i 100% did not buy alan wake 2 because it wasn't released physically. i'll definitely play it eventually, but i won't pay for it digitally until it goes on a steep sale simply on principle. i don't think i'm the majority on this, but i'm pretty staunch about my take on the transition to digital only release models for AA or AAA games. still holding out hope that maybe we'll get at least a Limited Run Games release or something 🤷‍♂️
  • @95TheTJ
Great podcast as always. I didn’t buy Hellblade 2 or Alan Wake 2 because I dint play the first one of either
  • Digital vs Physical Physical games are yours forever. If the console maker folds, you can still play it. You can buy them used and never have to pay full price. However, physical games take up space and for some people space is at a premium. Certain developers are unable to afford physical releases. Digital games are mostly the same as physical games and take up zero space. You can get them incredibly cheap during certain sales, cheaper than you could get it as physical. Certain developers can get their games out there without having to afford manufacturing and distribution costs. However, they are yours only as long as the distributor lives. If Epic Games folds, all the games you bought will become unplayable, and all that money goes down the drain. Plus, they're priced the same as physical games despite having zero overhead. Streaming games means you don't own the game at all. You're just paying for access to a rental service. It's up to the player and their circumstance, but I prefer physical games. I want a physical representation of the money I spent.

If you like Indy games, you should try VR. PSVR2 gets plopped on all the time, even though it is one of the best pieces of kit out there and for its tech involved one of the best bangs for your buck. PSVR2 has a ton of killers games, only a few of which are "Big" AAA games. But there are dozens of games with all unique, immersion gameplay you generally don't see from big studios.
  • As soon as I can play Ridge Rider I will subscribe to Game Pass Volcano tier. I will also accept Mr Domino on PS1.
  • I found the bouqet of flowers in Beyond Good and Evil and was wondering what it meant, thanks for clearing that up. I sure hope that the thumbstick mini game isn't required to beat BG&E, I like the game but not its mini games, the air hockey game with Francis frustrated me so much I quit the 360 version then and I just skipped it in the Anniversary release. I hope that isn't mandatory either tbh... Great episode BAP!
  • I'm from the future in the US. I am listening to you no, in the future, pretending that my country is about to die. Thanks!
  • @ssme_
    - Foamposite just means plastic. - Alan 2 didn't make money because it was barely marketed, didn't have physical release.
  • @Blitzjewel
I’m gonna be real here, I’m surprised they didn’t have the separate tiers for Day One releases before. Never like a price increase and making things more complicated but, that almaot seems like a no-brainer on the business side of things. Maybe they’re hoping this’ll either drive more subscribers to upgrade or even get people to pick up and spend 60 plus dollars on the normal edition of COD.
  • @Chris-nw6ws
The 1st alan wake took years to recoup it's costs and first hellblade came out on everything then was re-released a few times and had lots of marketing but wasn't a massive success. I think it's just more a lack of interest from the general gaming public in both games and poor marketing for hellblade 2 Awards don't mean sales and I'd say most people download these days as physical is pretty much dead. Shame both haven't done all that well in sales
  • @drgonzo123
You asked for more Moore, so this is on you guys! I don’t think game pass has a chance after this. Ultimate costs about $240 per year, that’s a little more than buying 3 games per year. Most people aren’t as entrenched in gaming like those of us who watch your podcast, and probably only play a handful of games per year. As adults, we are money rich and time poor. Children are time rich and money poor, and would be the target audience, but most kids today only care about playing games their friends are playing, like Roblox and Fortnite. The audience just isn’t there. I personally have all the consoles and a PC, and after this news will probably sell my Xbox and just use PC game pass. Also, they are devaluing the name Game Pass, because when they show a trailer and it says “play it day one on game pass,” that’s not exactly true anymore.
