Building an INCREDIBLE POND with the PROS

Having one pond was great, but much like a fish tank, terrarium or vivarium... it's even better to have two (or more)! That's why the folks at Aquascape and I teamed up to bring you another pond build. The funny thing is that after I uploaded the DIY pond build, a lot of you were saying that I should collab with Greg. By the time the requests started flooding in, him and I already had this one planned out. In doing so I had a GREAT time. These are all genuine, like-minded people who are awesome at what they do.

As you probably expected, that means that the native fish are moving outside to live the Aquascape Lifestyle. They'll be happier out there anyways and we can do much more interesting things in the animal room (stuff you've NEVER seen before). Stay tuned!

I know I'll get a lot of comments about how expensive these ponds are. Although it would definitely be more expensive to do something like this, realize that you're primarily paying for a CAC (Certified Aquascape Contractor). The kit and other materials really aren't that expensive compared to something similar. So if you can learn the process (they have the resources to do so), then you could certainly make something like this or bigger for a decent price, especially since there's no guess work or development involved. Had I known that to begin with, I may have went the ecosystem pond route for the one out back. Something I didn't talk about in that video is that I wasted a decent amount of money because I had to troubleshoot and design everything from scratch. Regardless of what you do, I'd highly recommend that you get a pond of some kind.

Here's the kit that we used to build this pond: www.aquascapeinc.com/products/small-pond-kit-8x11

A HUGE thanks to the folks over at Tussey Landscaping and Soergel Landscape. They really pulled through for this build and we couldn't have done it without them. If you're looking for more pond content, I'd highly recommend checking out their channel and the other items I have linked below.

For those of you who hated my DIY build or wanted me to collab with Greg, here's an Ecosystem Pond. Now I'm living the Aquascape Lifestyle! Like I said in the video description, the native fish are going in here, so like the previous build I'm not taking suggestions... you can humor me though! I was up late and put a ton of work into this video and I really hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think about the final product and what you would do with this pond. I don't know about you, but I ❤️ MY POND!

Tanners favorite things on earth: moss and driftwood

This makes me miss the old landscaping shows that used to be on HGTV. The multi-level waterfall pond looks amazing and it's only minimally planted. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. Also, I am seriously jealous!

Omg!! When I saw your DIY pond I was thinking of Aquascape!! This will compliment your own pond well!! 😄
  • @theonlyfaith77
All of this pond content is causing me to actively produce serotonin, thank you ❤️ Yet another great video, Tanner. I hope this gives you satisfaction every time you look at it. It's BEAUTIFUL.

I love that you and your wife have your rocking chairs on the front porch to relax and enjoy your beautiful yard. It reminds me of a sweet old married couple that has been married for 50 years. So cute!

I've seen so many builds from Greg that I was quite afraid that this would be another generic build. But you really managed to combine his professional working with your own style. Well done.
  • Greg was out and did a video on my pond. I'm in Michigan and don't know even if I'll make the cut to be seen on his channel. It was great being interviewed by him I did my old pond headed up for 25 years. This new Aquascape system is truly the best enjoy your pond.

Welcome to “Living the Aquascape Lifestyle!” Tanner!
  • You are correct about the price being relative to using a CAC. Their experience, expertise and ability to work with you is a big part of the price, but having the full materials, and quality materials, upfront is what makes a big difference. Your pond will come together faster and be of better quality. You get what you pay for. I did my ponds myself, always have, and it’s a constant battle the first two years. Aquascape will continue to service your pond for years to come. I’m not paid to say this!!! Lol. Great video!
  • Honestly, watching your videos is such a joy. With every other subscription I have there's always that one video that comes along and makes me uncomfortable, and makes me turn away from it, or feel out of place, or makes me anxious. But your channel is like watching little bits of a dream being built every time, and it's the most relaxing, wholesome, beautiful experience. You always do what you say you will, you never feel the need to be super extra and edgy about things, you're never cranky nor do you seem like you're not enjoying what you do, and you always keeps things informative and artistic and full of life. It's just wonderful to have a break with you and watch someone build something they're passionate and careful about.
  • Funny, the last video I watched was one of Venus fly trap plants & pond you did for your parents @ their home. Now the 3rd or 4th & here & your married rocking in a chair next to your wife & have a fabulous home. Nice & happy for you.

Tanner, as a mother of three sons, may I say that your mother must be so proud! You are incredibly talented, a true artist and master.
  • @timothygreer188
It's great that your talents, with a little help from your new friends, have grown to such a size. I can't wait to see the progress with plants and critters. I lost a lot of fish from herons and raccoons in the past. I'd suggest a Motion-Activated Animal Repeller/Sprinkler, Havahart and Orbit both make good ones
  • This video was a dream come true. To see you and Weston work together...I honestly never thought I'd see that as you are two of my favorite scaping artists on youtube. I hope you work with him in the future and I'm super excited to see how that pond evolves!
