Along with other genres, 2023 was an excellent year for shooters. First-person shooters, third-person shooters, competitive multiplayer, single-player focused, action RPGs - the list goes on. There's something for everyone, even some latecomers that earned a well-deserved spot.

Trepang2 offered a lot of action, while THE FINALS offered a fresh destruction-heavy multiplayer shooter. Of course, survival horror fans had their share too with Dead Space remake. Here are our picks for the best shooters of 2023.

I picked up Robocop Rogue City on my Xbox series X. I picked it up on disc from Amazon for £46. It was my most expensive game I purchased this year and it was worth it. I'm currently playing through Dead Space Remake on Xbox also. I got it a few days before Christmas for 60% off! I would have preferred a disc and I will get a physical copy cos it's absolutely brilliant. I loved the original on 360 and the new version is just as exciting as the 1st time I played. I look forward to getting Quake 2 Enhanced edition. This is another I played the 1st time round and I love it. Can't wait! So many good shooters ATM. Let's hope COD sort there games out. I haven't bought a COD for years now. The one with Kevin Spacey as the villain was the last COD I enjoyed. Trepang 2 is also a must play. I still play Fear 2 and 3 a lot so Trepang 2 should be familiar. Cheers mate. Great video.

I found Everspace 2 to be rather boring. Uninstalled it after about 4 hours. Remnant 2, however, is great and has awesome shooting mechanics.

Trepang2, Robocop and Roboquest were three shooters that really surprised me this year and made me wish we had more adventure shooters like we had back in the 90s and 2000s.
