I read the comments below and there are some good suggestions. What you laid out for the math on the ASE's is great, thank you for sharing what you found. For me, I decided long ago not to go for the ASE's- not a complete set anyway and for similar reasons as what you talked about. For my Morgan dollar collection, I picked the Carson City Mint only and have a complete set there. I like to collect certain parts of a series, so for the ASE's, I might collect say just the reverse proofs. Shorter set to collect and most RP's hold there value better, imo. It's been said out there getting an MS70 grade on the 1986 business strike is really difficult. Not sure sending in your early ASE's are worth it. This is a very good video, thank you!

The purpose of eagles is not collecting they are more of a alternative to the paper dollar savings account.
  • @ManDad_1964
That 1987 is almost proof like. Even though ’87 had a high mintage, in ms70 they’re going for about $700. I’m actually watching one on ebay right now to see where the bids take it.

Dip the coins in ezest, it doesnt hurt the coin it just removes the ton8ng and any grime on them, they will be bu again, pcgs allows dipping coins and will not call it cleaned, go to pcgs youtube and listen to their video on grading they talk about dipping being ok
  • Yes keep collecting AND get the grading! However, ultimately aren't you collecting for fun and You! Grading...meh?
  • @NCstacker
If I were you, I would try to complete this album.
  • @kaynefryday1251
They just don’t give a MS70 for the 86 eagle , so many people are sick of sending in perfect coins and getting knocked back , theory is only people who send in mega bulk or spend crap loads of money with them get that grade . You can always try 👍
  • @AmaraFlurry
I would not submit the coins you have, even if they were bright white, from what you showed in the video they would not grade 70. It's better to get them already slabbed. Me personally, I love the toning, I have an album and prefer that over the whole slab game on bullion.
  • @SirAlford
That is the problem with albums...they don't eccept capsules to deter toning.
