Unbelievable, I have never seen such intense acting and storytelling, almost as tempestuous as the book that I read when I was 15 years old. Incredible. Blows me right off my feet.
-
Maybe the best novel ever written Thanks from Chile 🇨🇱🇷🇺

I am discovering Russian cinema through these great masterpieces.

I usually don't watch movies, but I watched this whole one with my grandmother the other night. I loved the book, and i loved this adaptation with the phenomenal acting, costumes and settings, and fast moving plot. Thanks Russia and Dostoyevsky!

Dear Mosfilm, Thank you for another classic of which movie I never knew existed until today. Greetings from Kansas City, MO USA.

Wow! Another gem to watch after Peace and War. Nothing compares to these films. Watching from the Philippines.

i love how Dmitrij looks almost exactly as I imagined him while reading and how they gave importance to the long steps factor of his walk

Beyond words! I wish I could be more articulate to express how tbk touched my soul when I first read it. Since then emerged in me this love to humanity and the desire to fight this mental war that we all face inside. And now this adaptation has added this touch of passion, intensity but also delicacy. I don't think any other production can reach the level of spiritual connection.

Said it before and I'll say it again: Soviet era of Russian Cinema is better than modern day Russian cinema.

no chases, nor insufferable 15 minute long cgi battles ...it's refreshing to see

One of the best book to movie. I read the book first and had the characters pictured very similar like in the movie, now after watching the movie I can not unmake the characters when reading the book. Thank you for uploading this masterpiece in HQ.

Thank you, thank you, Dostoevsky at his best. Beautiful. This was when filmmaking in Russia was epic. Consider Sergey Bondarchuk's, 'War and Peace' 1966

Спасибо большое Мосфильм. We would never see these great films outside of Russia if not for your sharing.

You start seeing it, and you are enraptured until the end. This is a work of art that goes beyond almost everything movies were able to show. The actors are superlative, the choice of dialogue is amazing, scenarios are unique. Thank you Mosfilm for giving us Dostoyevsky in such a congenial way.!

To me, Russian Literature is so unique that it must be filmed by the Russians themselves in order to be superb in cinematic art (the only exception is David Lean's Doctor Zhivago)
-
Mosfilm, Thank you for these classic cinematic uploads---and for the English subtitles. Best Wishes from USA.
-
These restorations are miraculous. Thank you!

This masterful dramatization makes me want to read the book again. Not having seen the full three-part treatment, I am struck immediately by the inspired casting -- the old Fyodor Karamazov is a superb realization of the old rascal of the novel, and he delivers his lines with utter conviction. Ivan is overly intellectual; Dmitry is a bull; Ivan is innocent. And Smeryakov, Smerdyakov is a perfect snake.

I'm watching it from Syria 🇸🇾❤ I read the novel and I'm watching the movie now .....
