  • I SWEAR TO GOD, IF CHAPTER FOUR RELEASES AND KISSY IS DEAD IM GONNA THROW HANDS WITH THAT PROTOTYPE.
  • The most terrifying moment in the “hour of joy” scene for me was the army of miss delights chasing down the lines man(who was likely a teacher). One is already unnerving, a horde of them, might as well kill them via heart attack or fright.

I analysed the Catnap death scene closely. 1) He backs away when he sees Prototype's gave INSTANTLY. That means he was scared that the prototype will make him a part of himself. 2) The Prototype "calls" Catnap with his hand. 3) Catnap takes position and SPREADS his arms out in front of him, never taking his hand. 4) Prototype waits for Catnap to submit himself to his god. 5) Takes him. The scene clearly showed the Prototype's "love" for Catnap and Catnap's faith in him, instead of what the others think. The Prototype didn't drag Catnap away. He gently asked him to submit himself, and then killed him the only way he could have with those fingers. He WAITED for Catnap to submit himself. Still, the Hour of Joy was overkill.
  • 35:08 I really like the detail of the hatch above where the prototype comes out of being lit up, like some Angel descending from heaven. Really gives me a feel that catnap thinks that this thing is a god.

A sadistic detail I noticed about the Prototype is how it pretended to act kind to Catnap, both as a method of getting him to accept or as a sick joke, then just killed Catnap. The prototype explotied Catnap and made sure that he kept a false face to hide it, I can see why Poppy, Dogday, and Kissy Missy want him dead

Catnap's death in a way is tragic in the sense that the prototype probably regretted his choice to save Theo knowing he became a living toy which condemned him like the others for years and for that he was waiting for the chance to put Catnap out of his misery.
  • I've seen a lot of comments mentioning how the Prototype betrayed Catnap by seemingly extending his hand to help Catnap but then killing him, and that may indeed be what happened, but when I watched that scene I interpreted it a different way. Catnap is perhaps frightened at first when the Prototype first reaches down, but what devoted worshipper wouldn't be when his god appears in front of him? When the Prototype reaches out to Catnap, he's not offering to "help" him by saving him from death. He's offering to help Catnap, his faithful disciple, by "saving" him, by making Catnap part of the being he's worshipped and revered for so long. I think this is supported not just by the way Catnap falls to his knees, almost worshipping, but by how he doesn't reach for the Prototype's hand. He holds his hands up as if praying, or welcoming, but not to grab the hand. If he had been expecting "help", to be saved from death, I think he would have reached for the Prototype's hand, asking to be pulled free. Instead, he kneels there, freely giving himself over to his god. Also, if the Prototype truly didn't care for Catnap, why wouldn't he have just waited until after Catnap had succumbed to his burns to harvest his body, the way he did with Mommy Long Legs? After the life Catnap lived, I imagine the perfect end for him would be to become one with the Prototype, forever, and the Prototype wanted to offer that fate to Catnap while he was still alive to appreciate it. Whichever way you choose to interpret the scene, I think it's the most impactful scene in the game thus far, and provides some absolutely chilling food for thought.
  • I really like that they leaned into how horrific and dark this story is. They don't shy away from the reality of the child torture and mass slaughter, and it makes everything hit so much harder.

Catnap's death is tragic and sad in a way. We didn't really see how the scientist treated Huggy and Mommy but we saw clearly how they treated Catnap before the Hour of Joy. And Theo has been in that situation for years, he was just a child when he was chosen and he never got closure, not even after murdering everyone. The prototype saving him was both good and bad. It was clear he wanted to survive but he ended up living alone in the depths of the place that tormented him. Eating corpses to stay alive and surrounded by the bodies of the people who refused to submit to the prototype's control, maybe some of them he even considered friends. So when the prototype extended his hand out to Catnap, Theo wanted to run, he backed away because he clearly knew what was coming, then he realized it was the only option he had. He couldn't go outside to live a normal life nor could he escape the prototype. So he submitted and got a swift death. Finally ending his misery in the worst way possible.

The sound of Kissy Missy screaming hurts my heart. She may have played a teeny tiny part in the hour of joy, but she’s good now, helping to make things right and she didn’t deserve that 😢 and hearing concerned Poppy is seals that bond they have in my head. ALSO I want to know more…. I honestly thought this would be the last chapter throughout the entire play through solely because they were info dumping on us. But that also tells me that they’re confirming theories so they can prepare us for what’s next like “ this is what’s happening. If you were right, you were right if you were wrong, you were wrong next chapter you guys get to try again with the information that we gave you.”

hearing nothing but silence and the buzzing of flies in the head of school's office was so Ominous like "oh... theres a corpse in here somewhere"
  • 18:53 Mike: What the heck is that sound? Catnap, leaning against something with a saxophone nearby: You like Jazz?
  • @Raco0n_luvrr
30:17 I think what’s cool about this tape is that, at the end, 1006 speaks in the scientist’s voice, meaning it either can mimic voices of people (think sirenhead) or it can record sentences to use for whatever purpose. Either way, an interesting tape and a really interesting chapter!
  • @marcopeter7581
35:00 Catnap was clearly afraid. He Backed away, knowing what would happen. The Prototype however Held Out His Hand in an ,,helping hand'' Motion. Catnap then thought it would save him, He got betrayed.
  • @ThunderBZaper
What I like about Catnap is he gives us a chance to leave before killing us showing he has at least a bit of remorse, but obviously we don’t leave and he comes for us
  • @buhoahogado2993
I don't think the Prototype speaks like that because it is an amalgamation or something like that, but rather because it doesn't have a true voice and instead speaks imitating the voices of others. During its dialogue you can hear it uses CatNap's voice and uses the interviewer's voice to repeat his exact phrase back at him.

Noticed a few things about this chapter. So based on the interaction between Stella and the couple wanting to adopt a child, it seems Stella was completely unaware of what testing meant regarding the child, and appeared worried herself regarding the child, unable to answer the couple who wanted to adopt the orphan. Given her personality and heart, it's possible she was oblivious to what was truly happening to the children. She probably thought the Game Center was just a place to see how well the kids are doing and what their strengths are to better fond them homes, and ran the Playcare as a way to further achieve finding the orphans homes while also letting them be happy. Given all this, i have a big theory... Stella is Kissy. She was a adult with the heart of a child with so much joy, and she would've been a perfect candidate for the bigger bodies project. Kissy was also on her way to the Playcare before the Hour of Joy occured, and Stella's office is boarded off in chapter one, possibly signifying she was "fired" or something. Kissy is also seen looking at a child's photo, probably reflecting on memories she still had. Her gentle and caring nature is also very similar to what Stella's own personality was like. Just a GAME THEORY (don't understand why I have to clarify on that) Another little detail I noticed regarding Chapter 3, and this is just a guess/speculation. Back in chapter 2, we saw the one higher-up slide with it's letters thrown about, and it resulted in two names being pieced together from them. I forgot the last names, but I remember the first names, Jay and Jamie. The player's exact gender is left unknown, but if you pay attention whenever the player wears their mask, the breathing is rather high pitched, and somewhat feminine, instead of deep and masculine. Maybe the player is a Jamie.
  • It's hard to say if CatNap is the scariest creature in the franchise. I almost feel a bit sorry for it honestly. I still say the chase in the ventilation from chapter 1 is still the scariest part of this game series.
  • @SmeenWrites
So Poppy was stuck in that cage during The Hour of Joy, and not participating. She was only left out of her case when the player came back. That's super interesting, I wonder if she was like a good influence that the Prototype needed to get rid off before triggering The Hour of Joy, since he locked her up in that case in the first place.

"we burned his ass" Nah. More like he burned himself. He tried to use the gas again and it sparked a fire. Bro done roasted himself
