I'm so sorry about that mess with your windows!! Unfortunately this kind of thing isn't new... I paid for remodelling my parents' kitchen, and it was through my brother-in-law (who works in real estate) and the construction guys he usually works with. It ended up being an absolute mess, the neighbours called the police on them, they left the place so dirty and unfinished too, and now the family relationship is a bit strained because of that. So... Just to empathise! I hope you get that fixed and they assume responsibility!
  • Omg! I would be so mad about the windows sorry you went through that. I went through something similar with a front door install from Lowe’s thankfully they did own up to the mistake and gave us a bit of a refund and fixed their mistake correctly. When they removed our old door they had to rebuild some of the frame cause it’s an old house but it was crooked as heck and when they hung the door and storm door there was a 2 inch gap at the bottom where literally anything could just crawl inside. The guy left and didn’t come back and I was like wtf so I called and they were like no jobs done and I sent them photos and was like no it’s not, they had someone back the next day who was so nice about it and got it fixed.
  • I'm so excited for book 2! The artwork of the artists looks amazing, I cannot wait for the cover reveal!

No no no, you can get a lawyer and make them pay damages AND lawyer fees! Look more into that.

I'll gladly wait for the physical copy release of book 2! Gives me time to re-read til then 😁♥️

A lot of those stores Home Depot/Lowes hire 3rd party vendors to do the installs. When we did our deck we ordered supplies from the store but had our contractor do the install/build.

Skipped to the ending first because I’m nosy and replacing my windows 😂. Home Depot was the cheapest quote we got for windows by far. As tempting as it was, reading experiences on reddit scared us away. We ended up signing off with a company that is pricey but seems to be stress free.🤞🏾

Its not a home improvement story, but it is one of a company not taking accountability for their mistakes. My wife was not paid her maternity leave for 3 months (totalled almost 10k) because her work's HR didn't understand the new policy they started offering. She was in a satellite location for the main company, but in a different state. Because of this she didn't qualify despite the numerous reassurances and signed documents she was given. We didn't find this out until after our daughter was home. So in addition to learning out how to care for a newborn we were trying to get her pay sorted out. How this relates back to your story is that every lawyer we talked to said that we had a very good case, but that the payout would have all gone to legal fees. We decided to just move on and 2 years later I'm still paying down the credit card debit we accumulated during those 3 months.

I am not in Arizona but in California you can file a complaint with the licensing board for contractors. At least if they lose their license they won't be able to hack someone else's house up.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this! Also it was nice hearing about your book and how things are going. I've been dealing with my own 'balcony installation nightmare' for the past 4 months as well. English is not my first language so I'll be brief :D I live in Europe in an old block of flats and we did not have balconies. So we decided to get one for each flat. Not only is the company taking more than 4 months to finish their work (usual is few weeks to month; it's still not done) and only because of few neighbours constant involvement in this (otherwise I think we would still be waiting), they used wrong panels with longer parts that go into the wall so every single flat has one or more holes in outer walls because they broke through the outer wall when doing the neighbouring balcony, they were few millimetres from doing the damage to heating pipes in my flat AND the result is all the balconies are being pushed out more than they should so it breaks the static of the whole building. And we can't do anything about it. They act like it's nothing and everything is all right. So I've been in constant state of stress for the past couple of months and I have no hopes it will ever get resolved. Sorry if this is convoluted, having a hard time making sense in english 😅

It's crazy how you post this video today taking about book 2 and I was going through my emails and still had the email from 2018 when I got to be a beta reader for book 1 😊. So excited for what's to come 😁

Great job! Thank you so much for such interesting content! 🍒🧡

Wow. What a mess with the windows. They subcontract, which makes it easier for them to pass the blame. Ugg! — So excited about your book news!!
  • @ravenevermore7338
I love that RJ Barker series. I hope you finish them all and enjoy them.
  • I uses to work for a window company and most of them, including home depot, outsource their labor to subcontractors that are often not thoroughly screened for their previous experience, and the project manager is usually told to be there at the end to get a signature and money which is probably why he wasn't on site during the install. The contractors are told to say they work for home depot, but usually they are a separate company. I'm sorry you had to deal with it, but it is definitely common for window and door companies that do this. Hopefully they no longer use those contractors and the project manager should be reprimanded for handling the situation the way he did.

I am usually a lurker on the channel (and have been since 2018), but I just wanted to come out and share how excited I am about the book updates!! Peace and Turmoil is still one of my favourite political fantasies, and I truly can't wait to reread it and to see how the story continues. Also, those artists look SO talented, congrats on working with them 🤩 Please don't worry about getting it out as soon as possible though (also maybe don't release around Wind and Truth lol), it will be 100% worth the wait 🥰 So sorry about the window mess though, it sounds like a nightmare! Don't know if I would have kept my calm during that hahah. Hope peace settles in soon and everything gets fixed as well as it can! ❤ Cheers ☺
