When I saw this story my only thought was Kristi Noem is a Sociopath who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near anything with a pulse.

The idea of her thinking it would be OK to go public with killing a puppy speaks to her judgement as much as her callousness towards life. How could she possible expect it would be OK to say. "I shot a puppy." to the general public...a puppy for God's sake. This woman should not be in charge of an outhouse.

We adopted a dog a dog in 2019 that was 26 months old in January 2019. She had been in two other homes in the 90 days prior to us being approved to adopt her. She had aggression issues they told us, so they were concerned. We told them we have trained dogs all our lives. Well she bit me one time in training her, but she is still here after five years. She is now so gentle and snuggly , trained to many hand signals, whistle signals and voice commands. All it takes is time and the right approach, don't try to fix everything at once. Food or the lack thereof obviously was an issue with her at prior homes (gained 14 pounds after coming here), hair is longer coat is shinier. Our grandson for a living, works with people and their supposed untrained dogs, to train them right. Noem shot a smelly goat too. Daughter has goats on her farm, some ranked in the top ten in the USA. Male goats pee on their face to attract the female when they come into their cycle. Don't understand it and don't want to; works for the goats so let them go for it.

I feel like a lot of people are overlooking the fact that 3 horses truly needing euthanasia at the same time is... highly unlikely.

"I hated the dog, so I killed it," is not the kind of "tough decision-making" that I want in the White House.
