The only “Perfect” receiver in nfl history. Size, speed, strength, route running, hands, ball skills, athleticism, the man had it all and it was weird not calling him the best nickname ever.
  • "i have never in my lifetime seen a receiver with more god given ability than calvin johnson" "its never a bad option to throw it to calvin johnson even if he's covered" i love those quotes and i love calvin johnson my favorite player of all time
  • @Hummabubba
Favorite reciever of all time. If he was on a team that gave a shit, he could've been retired in the top 3 in every statistic.
  • @TanmanC
People remember his strength and his ability to go up and get it but I feel like people forget how fast he was
  • @antcampo52
Imagine him playing for a winning organization his whole career

"I'm NOT a Detroit Lions Fan, but He's DEFINITELY in my top 5 Favorite WRs that I ALWAYS loved to Watch"...
  • @Dr.JeremyDunks
Absolute legend. I selfishly hate that he retired so young, but I absolutely understand it, and respect it. Happy he retired with his health.
  • @RyanLBrown9396
I watched him make touchdown catches while covered by 3 DB’s. Physically dominant ? You damn right. A WR in a TE’s body

Hard to believe that Detroit had to of the best players to ever play the game, and yet just could not put together a winning team for more than 1-2 years. Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders. And to think that the two of them never held the franchise for ransom to get massive salaries or to be traded to super bowl contending teams. They were truly team players, and were committed to the team that drafted them.

I loved his “Barry sanders-like” attitude. He wasn’t a gaudy trash talking show boater. He just worked his butt off and tried to help his team win.
  • Calvin Johnson 6-5 240 runs a 4.3. Could run all the routes in the route tree, short medium deep routes all of it full speed, Great hands, ball skills. Man was a create player in madden, A freak athlete Guy was fucking unstoppable. After him came Julio Jones, and the next one that I can compare him to Calvin now playing is DK Metcalf another freak but he is still has a lot to improve in his route running to get to Calvin’s level. Man only the Lions can make their greatest players to retire in their primes. This Guy would have been the goat of recievers if it was it for the lions. Amazing and one of the greatest players of all time.
  • Calvin Johnson is without question the most gifted receiver to have ever played. As a Lions fan I’ve endured more than most fans could imagine. But I’ve also had the good fortune of being able to watch Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson play every Sunday for 19 years of my life. It’s hard to be mad about that. Thank you Calvin for everything you gave to this team and city. You’re a legend.
  • C Johnson and Matt Stafford, 2 of the most underrated duo ever!! Great career brother!
  • I understand that there are other insanely talented wr's with much better careers. But to me, Calvin Johnson is the best wr that football has ever had.
  • The parallels between Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders is crazy. Both played in Detroit, both retired early in their prime, and both were the most gifted athletes at their respective positions. Barry’s ability to make guys miss, speed and quickness we won’t ever see again. Concur, Calvin’s ability of size, speed, and strength we won’t EVER see again. I’ve never seen a receiver not just double covered every game but TRIPLE covered. And STILL made plays. Legend
  • I remember watching him catch a TD in triple coverage in the endzone against Dallas and just thought wow this guy is un coverable.
  • Calvin Johnson was so good. Glad he at least made it to the Hall of Fame.
  • @11jcarter
Never realized how hard he fell and the shots he took. I can see how the injuries affected him, yet he still balled out. #legend
  • I’m old enough and smart enough now to know that when it comes to eras of the game it really can be difficult to distinguish who is the GOAT at any one position in sports, but Megatron is up there in the conversation. Rice, Megatron, Moss…no particular order.
