its come to the point where I stopped watching all other tech reviewers because the information that you give is exactly what I look for. no one reviews the little things like battery drain on sleep, how changing tdp affects performance of the machine, etc. thank you for your amazing and in depth reviews!
  • The way you showed battery life and high wattage vs low wattage use cases is perfect. This should be the gold standard.

Constructive audio advice: Your P’s are popping pretty loud in headphones. A pop filter should clean that up, or back up from the mic a few inches. Good stuff as always 👍

if you are checking the performance of the iGPU itself, do the tests in 1080p. Because in 720p games with high frame rates, the performance depends more on the CPU (and e.g. 880M and 890M can have almost identical results; the same in the case of 780M, the advantage of the newer 880M can be underestimated/overestimated due to the older CPU

Locking clocks might only be valid for educational purposed. Rdna 3.5 might not get ipc gains, but efficiency gains allowing it to clock higher at a given voltage.

It's hard to get excited for all these great new laptop CPUs when you know that they're only going to be put into devices chasing thinness and MacBookness at the expense of everything else.

One of the good reviews I was waiting for! Thx Edit: 9:50 i like how you showed that best case - worst case szenario and backed up by real data

Thank you! That was a great comparison between the two laptops -- and you answered all my questions! Most other reviews only review the high-end and more expensive HX 370. Subbed!
  • Great video. Very detailed as always. It's looking great, do you think we will see handhelds with strix point by fall/holidays?
  • @Erw-In
Thanks for this great review again!

According to Geekerwan, the the full & compact cores are on different CCXs & the latency between them is atrocious. This will probably cause issues in games that go over 8 threads.

Great review! I am so tempted to pull the trigger on this laptop. But I'm not sure if I should wait for Strix Halo. Decisions, decisions.. since I run Linux waiting also helps to get the bugs ironed out.
  • Quality review. Hopefully we can see Strix Point in Handhelds soon, ideally with the 890m 16cu of Rdna 3.5.

Try limiting CP2077 to only the 4 big cores. The 8 smaller cores are destroying performance.

I like it that even though The Phawx is a relatively small channel and doesn't specialise in laptop testing, you got these to play with. Pity you need to return them. Any chance you'd get a GPD DUO to test?

I'm so glad I found your channel since your guest episode with Tom at moore's law. Your analysis is so good.
