Landyachtz Dinghy Review (Breakdown)

Published 2020-09-02
The Landyachtz Dinghy is commonly praised as one of the best mini-cruisers out there. But is it actually that good or just overhyped? That's what I cover in this video.

Now that I’ve been riding this board for a while, I have a solid idea of who I think it’s best for.

If you’re looking for a high-quality mini-cruiser and your budget ranges from about 140-180ish, you should definitely consider it. And here’s why - the deck shape, hardware, bearings, wheels - well just about every component that makes up this board is the definition of quality.

Bro, this is literally sounding like an advertisement right now, but I promise you it’s not. I’ve never talked to Landyachtz in my life, although if anyone at Landyachtz is reading this, I’d be stoked to work with you guys - just putting that out there ([email protected]).

I’ve also seen many people ask if it’s a good beginner board and my answer to that is… well it can be. Let me clarify…

The more inexperienced you are, the better off you’ll be with a larger board. And that makes sense, right? The more deck space, the more room you’ll have to put your feet and the easier it’ll be to balance.

Since these boards are mini-cruisers, then you might want to consider something longer. I’d recommend spending a little more for the Tugboat series, which is basically the same concept as the dinghy, just scaled bigger.

Hey guys, just to clarify - this is the Dinghy Blunt UV Sun, which is the same length & wheelbase, but 0.6inches wider than the regular one. The wheels are also smaller on this one versus the regular version. Sorry for the confusion - overall, they're similar boards. But just make sure to check the specs before buying to ensure you're getting the right one.

Id also recommend the Tugboat for a more comfortable ride while still being the great dinghy shape

I just started skating this year, and I learned everything on my mini cruiser (I use one of the magneto boards) and honestly I’m so glad I started on the mini. You don’t develop any bad habits or a dependency on a longer board with more foot space. I love your channel man! Incredible quality and you’re a straight up chill dude. I think the only thing to improve the channel is for more great videos like this to come out. Good vibes and good shredding!

  • @ykeleboy808
I love my dinghy just for the fun factor. It doesn’t do a lot of things “well” per se but it’s loads of fun. It makes smaller hills feel much more exciting. It’s also the reason for my increased road rash.
