  • There's a bicycle shop by the border that is making a killing from this loophole.
  • Most of the people crossong the norwegian-russian border have already gottan a visa to stay in russia, but becouse norway is a better place for Them they choose to come here! This is making IT Harder for syrian-refugees to come to norway, becouse theese syrians (with a visa in russia) are takling up the space (in norway we have only a finight amount of spots/places for syrian refugees) for other refugees! Sorry for the terrible english, in norwegian.

Refugees are desperate to reach the Norwegian border post so that they can apply for asylum. But pedestrian traffic across the border is banned, and Norwegian authorities say they will fine car and bus drivers who carry passengers without proper documents. That makes cycling the refugees' best option. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/30/bike-shortage-stems-flow-of-migrants-using-russian-arctic-route-to-europe

Some refugees entering Finland from the Russian border at Salla and other places nea the arctic circle were genuine, a few were Islamic militants and one or two were members of banned groups who may kill infidels in a bar, These people entered Russian Federation, went up to Salla, Russia near Russia, bought old Lada Soviet vehicles for 60 dollars, adn used these vehicles to drive up to the Finlnd border near Salla, Russia, a place in the middle of nowhere in lands full of ice and reindeer. Others went to Murmansk, and took a cab to the border and rented a bicycle or rented a bicycle.

it's just a gap in Russian legislation. you can't crossthe border by foot because it's hard to control and of course you need documents to cross the border with a vehicle or by foot. but bycicle is not considered as a vehicle by the law, so that's what these refugees are using
  • @mackmaster100
Why is this part of Norway having this strange law in the first place!?
  • @ABK906
What is the name of this point and it’s still open now ?
  • @ThePaalanBoy
