Playstation 1, 1998. My childhood right here :D They don't make 'em like this anymore.. Res 1, 2 and 3 were my favorites. Nothing compares with the music and atmosphere of these older survival horror games.

Didn't go for a high rank or speed run, this was for enjoyment and doing almost all you can in the scenario(Still got B rank). After all this time I still remembered pretty much where all the item pickups were. One of the only things I skipped was using a small key to get the custom handgun parts in the police station. I had so much shotgun ammo left towards the end of the game that the handgun became obsolete anyway. I will probably make the custom handgun in the B Scenario.

Uploading this in celebration of the Resident Evil 1 remaster coming out in January. They need to make one for this game!

05:40 Raccoon City Streets
11:55 Police Station
54:35 Basement
01:19:22 Unfinished Business
01:33:27 Sewer Escape
01:54:25 Factory
02:08:18 Umbrella Lab
02:25:00 Evacuation

I got this when I was 14 with my mum, it was rated 18, and when the games shop employee asked "This is for 18 year olds, is it for you or your son", she said "it's for me". What a great moment.

Head to the police station, it will be a lot safer, he said.
  • Original RE2 has a sense of loneliness, and sounds that keeps you on your toes. It was perfect

I remember telling my friends: "You know that one day the gameplay graphics are gonna be as good as the cutscenes" Good ol' days.
  • I was 7 years old when this game came out and I remember my uncle (who was a massive gamer) got it when it came out in the UK. Went round his house to watch him play it, and the part where Claire is in the diner and all the zombies appear at the window terrified me, so much so I ran out of his house straight home hahaha. Sadly he passed away a few years ago and it saddens me to think he won't get to play the remake along with other games he would have loved like Resident Evil 7, Alien Isolation and so on. I think for a lot of us this game wasn't just a great game it also brings back memories of times, places, and people. Real massive dose of 90's nostalgia watching this. Cannot wait for the remake!

raccoon city sure has a fine police department, that place looks more like a museum
  • This game is so sad, bleak, dark, somber and it traumatized me as a child. I love it.

“You should be safe inside here. I’m keeping a close eye on things.” doesn’t see crowd of zombies coming towards the window
  • Favorite game of all time, RE2 1998. Edit—- RIP PaulHaddad, he voiced Leon in this game and he recently passed away.

Haha I love how this guy knows where every single freakin box of handgun bullets is located. Takes a lot of replays to know a game this well.
  • @asims1988
Anyone here because Leon's voice actor, Paul Haddad just died?

Thank you for posting this! No speed run, no knife run, no skipping scenes, just playing the whole game and let us watch like a movies. Bring back so many good memories 😊

I used to watch my mother and father play this game back to back to see who could get the fastest time. Honestly it's just nice to see a classic I used to be scared of and also playing myself!! Capcom gives me mad nostalgia no matter what.
  • @SAX_PAYNE
