We all talk about how unfair it is that the witch turned Beast’s servants in objects, but the worst part is that some got the ability to speak and others didn’t.

No wonder this town doesn’t like Belle, she starts every day singing her “I’m so much better than everyone in this stupid town” song.

You technically cannot buy love with a library, but you can show your love and appreciation to someone by giving them a deeply personal and meaningful gift. And a library to a bookworm is kind of an ultimate life goal (source: me, a bookworm).

Probably the cruelest thing about Gaston is that despite sharing what he thought about the Beast in the song “Kill Beast” and that he described the Beast as a bloodthirsty savage, he was obviously aware of the Beast’s intelligence and knew that he wasn’t just some dumb animal as he made everyone else to believe. He talks to Beast throughout the fight showing that he clearly knows he can understand him. This might be giving him too much credit, but It’s possible that Gaston might’ve even realized that the Beast was a human being who had been cursed. But Gaston didn’t care about any of this, he just knew that Bell had feelings for him and he wanted to get rid of him.

I feel Gaston rarely comes up when discussing Disney's best villains, and it's a real shame. He's obviously iconic because of all the memes, but when you look past how hilarious he is at face value, he's a genuinely effective and even low-key scary villain who plays into the story and its themes really well.

Someone pointed out to me that in the original film he surprises her with an entire library because Belle loves books. In the live action, he insults her hobby, mansplains books to her and way like "yeah I have a library btw". Why I love the original is it's just pure wholesomeness and the live action doesn't have that beautiful romantic feel the og does. Anyways thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Fun fact: this movie took the same amount of time to complete as the emoji movie, and somehow this became a masterpiece

It's sad that Disney+ re-cut the Human Again song when it was added back into the movie for the anniversary release 20 years ago. It's one of the best songs in the movie and it's about how the servants want to become human again and how they now have hope. It makes the later fight scene more powerful and meaningful.

Watched this for my animation film class. Practically every girl ranted about how ugly the human version of Beast was. It ended with us debating whether it made us monsterfuckers or furries. Our professor shut us down at that point. Not a single dude commented during this debate.
