UPDATE: I have since received a new Tantrum, hopefully it won't break too.

The figures in this set indeed have unreasonably tight joints. When I transformed these Predacons for the first time, I had to investigate every joint before moving it, to prevent it from breaking. I keep it in Predaking mode. Let's hope you get your replacement.

I had my set MISB for years. And two weeks ago I wanted to have a look at them, and to my amazement I too found that Tantrum was in there with a broken head !
Luckily I got a G.1 Tantrum of ebay for just $0.99 for fixing up my 2010 reissue figure. I swapped the main body and the arms an leg plates from the G.1 Tantrum and all the other limbs are from the 2010 reissue. I think the darker grey plastic from the original G.1 along with the main body with the yellow stripe (not gold) looks good. -

Gelukkig heb ik dus een nieuwe gekregen, maar ook die is niet echt stevig. Takara heeft een grote fout in Tantrum en Ramhorn laten zitten.

If it was Hasbro they would have replaced it fast plus let you keep the set you all ready own.
You should contact Takara and tell them how un happy you are. -
