This was EF4, not EF3.

At this point i think the Midwest should consider building homes with cement blocks, not just wood stilts

My sister was born in this town in 1963. My parents had lovely neighbors and they kept in touch with them. The wife is 97 and still lives here. She was able to get to her basement and survived. Her house was demolished.

It is the definition of insanity to keep building in these areas without changing the building codes.

How sad. Hope they recover and rebuild

Can't understand yanks using flimsy wooden framed, plaster board houses? You need reinforced concrete. In tornado zones surely all new structures need to be tornado proofed ? đ€

Can somebody tell me when are Americans in tornado Alley going to make a houses that are able to stand? A tornado houses made of wood? Are not going to cut it? Why arenât they building houses out of containers with decent foundations to withstand this thing every year? this happens, it just keeps repeating itself and nobody ever says letâs redesign houses to help us.đ
