Hi all Wolf Lord Rho here!

Today we look at the first meeting between father and son, Corax, Primarch of the Raven Guard. And the Emperor of Mankind.

The events we are talking about today come from the Horus Heresy novel "Deliverance Lost". I really recommend you read the novel for yourself first. As this is the best way to enjoy the lore! Not only that but we help to support the great Games Workshop and Black library! Link: www.blacklibrary.com/the-horus-heresy/novels/deliv…

Corax: I'm bursting with questions. Emps: Hello Bursting with questions, I'm dad

The Emperor calls the immence radiance of his psychic might an "occupational hazard", that absolutely kills me. As if he isn't totally trying to make the biggest entry possible.

The emperor cares about the primarchs. The emperor cares about everything. Literally. Everything. But because if this, he is also 100% willing to sacrifice any or all of his sons without a second thought as long as it furthers his ultimate goals. But he held back on horus despite the massive betrayal. he intended to go easy on Magnus, despite Magnus unintentionally dooming the future of mankind. He went easy on lorgar, despite lorgars insistence on disobeying his most important command. These small moments of weakness are the proof that he really does see them as sons

I love the Emperor smiling at Corax's happiness of hearing of his brothers. That's beautiful.

18 sons? Come now Wolf Lord; Malcador can't hurt you anymore.
  • I like this portrayal of the emperor more than the cold character he is in other stories.

Emperor to Corax - as long as you don’t become some warp infused shadow tearing around the warp we good k.
  • Corax : dad give me toys Big E: dont let your brothers know Alpharius: mwahahaha
  • If he didn’t care for his sons, he wouldn’t have held back on Horus. Simple as that.

IMO The Emperor does actually try to care, but after tens of millennia being a being of elevated mind and body, he simply has stunted emotions like compassion and empathy. So though he does try to be a good father/role model, he's simply just bad at it, combined with the pressure of duty and vision he has to humanity, he tends to forget he can put his long term goals on the back burner for a bit, to take time for the now. Hence every primarch having daddy issues.

Corax is the most down to earth of all the primarchs.
  • @GrugSmesh
Corax: "It's not just a phase dad!"
  • Corax was discussing his new curse words with his father when he first met him
  • Mate, this channel is easily becoming one of the best 40k channels around. Keep it up!

One of the reasons I like Corax so much is because of Deliverance Lost is how Corax shows how much knowledge the Primarchs have built into them, how much he remembers of the Emperor and the gene labs. How he knew he was XIX. That we get to see what a young Primarch can do and knows was so amazing
  • I like it when the emperor doesn't want to be a god but when he walk among the people they fall to the floor
