Hey guys, so I've gotten a lot of comments about the audio quality and volume. This video was recorded with a headset mic, and as such the audio sucks. There's not a whole lot I can do about it after the fact unfortunately, all I can say is that my audio is fixed going forward, and sorry y'all have to deal with it in this one. Once again thanks for the support, it means a lot.

Let’s be honest, you did not come here on random, you came here because you already watched the show and loved it so much you just wanted to hear and be around others who are thinking the same thing…. Don’t worry, I see you… yes this show is absolute gold and I am happy you think the same.

A note about the music, its not licenced. Its all written for the show, Riot really knows their music XD and as for imagine dragons, the reason they are in the show is because they have supported Riot/LOL for years. They have written worlds anthems before, and actually play the game. A part of the community, so giving them that camio is really cool to me.

Im so glad Arcane is still being discovered by people, as someone who had never played LoL but knew of the odd character or 2 (mainly Jinx) this is EASILLY in my top 3 of shows/movies of all time. Season 2 in 2024 (hopefully)

So casually some random guy, with a great voice and a headset mic, comes out of nowhere and make one of the best 'why arcane is great' videos on the whole damn internet. And considering the number of them out there, that's absolutely insane. So yeah. Frickin' great job man.
  • As someone who’s just waiting for season 2 and rewatching old arcane video essays just to feel something, it’s so cool to find a new essay posted that points out things that I’ve never seen covered by other channels. 2 years after release. Loved this.
  • One of my favorite things about Viktor is how coded he is as a villain, but then he turns out to be an outstanding guy who just often tends to act before thinking ahead. And not just once, there are multiple parts where you go "oh, so this is where he turns evil", but nope, he still ends up true to his moral compass. It surprised me even as someone who knows his lore (I haven't really played the game proper for years now, but the lore and the worldbuilding is pretty grand) because, while he isn't really evil after the events that take place in Arcane, having multiple writers means that some choose to portray him a bit... less favorably than others.

The thing with Heimer is A: He is effectively immortal B: He lived through an event called "the runewars" where mages almost ended the world. Thats why he is incredibly scared of magic. For context, that was effectively a nuclear war using the most powerful known magic. The remnants of the creation of the universe. The mage that saved Jayce was likely Ryze who is now collecting the runes in order to make sure they are never ever used again. I have between 5 and 10K hours in league, fuck that game, but the Lore is amazing.

This made me so fucking pumped for season 2, Great vid man.
  • As an aspiring writer, I decided to study this show to learn better storytelling and after about a year of learning new things every day from it, I can confidently say Arcane is one of, if not the greatest narrative work ever devised. I've seen it 24 times and I still haven't wrapped my head around every nuance it has to offer. I guarantee that in a few short years, this show is going to reach cultural icon status higher than anything other than Star Wars because a story this good doesn't go unnoticed. Great vid, can't wait for the second half of the story in season 2.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the narrative weight of the fight scene on the bridge during the visual storytelling part. They told an entire shared back story and gave emotional wait to a fight between two characters that hadn't even shared any screentime with each other up until that point, in like 40 seconds, with no dialogue.

My mom: "Okay, we'll watch one more episode, then I gotta go to bed" Me: "Uh maybe we shouldn't call it a night after ep3, it's uhhhh" we binged through ep6 that night alone
  • @thinman25
It sounds like you enjoyed Marcus as a character more than the general consensus of, "Oh brother, THIS GUY STINKS!"

3:33 To be fair, Fortiche somehow tried mixing 2D and 3D stuff during Jinx's release on 2013, her MV Inteoduction is called "Get Jinxed!" I don't know if you've seen it, but if you haven't, you must check it out. 😅

Awesome video, I just recently watched Arcane and it was great. One thing I think is done very well, is that everytime Jinx/Powder is on screen, you can see which it is. Jinx has a slim face with hard edges, while Powder has a slightly rounder face and rounder eyes. It is such a small change, that one can miss it but when you realise it, you can see which personality is on screen at any time. For example when Vi hugs Powder after the flare, it is very obviously Powder, but as soon as she sees Caitlyn, you can see her face change and it is Jinx. For me, this is a gamechanger, I have never seen something like that done and they nailed it perfectly. This show is so good and I hope it continues to be.
  • @renehoyvik
I'd just like to add, none of the music is lisenced. All the music was written by the Riot Music team except for the imagine dragon song, and even that was written specificly for the show as Riot and imagine dragon have been working together since 2012.
  • @MechanicCactuss
I especially loved the bridge scene with ekko and jinx, where for a few seconds jinx has powders eyes again, fully accepting death. Ready to die as powder. And then silco brings her back cause he can't cope with the loss
  • I just discovered this show last month and I. LOVE. IT! Out of all the characters that are in the show, I'd have to pick Ekko as my favorite, he's just so cool! Not to mention, he's actively helping people. The animation in his episode is just a thousand chefs kisses wonderful! I've no clue what the LOL game is, and I love that you don't even need to know to watch the show. I'm really excited for season 2 and look forward to seeing the aftermath of the finale of season 1.
  • This video was absolutely amazing. But putting Deep Stone Lullaby at the end made me tear up a bit. PERFECT song choice.
  • @iksaglam
I have watched many breakdowns of arcane and at this point it's really hard to say something new and interesting about it. But major props to you. This was hands down one of the best and most unique analysis made about the show!
