Flying the Bonanza to Russia did not go as expected. We crossed the ocean in a small plane, dealt with inflight icing, and I've never been happier to hand fly an instrument approach to minimums in pouring rain at midnight.

I've been flying since I was 16 and at age 19 flew around the world by myself in the same 1981 A36 Beechcraft Bonanza I still fly, becoming the youngest person ever to solo circumnavigate by aircraft.

Now, I'm sharing all kinds of aviation adventures with YOU! Ride along as we explore the world from the air and get a close up look at some of aviation's best flight experiences and destinations.

"Our Russia contact said he will take care of everything." One moment later, "We cannot get in touch with our Russia contact...." LOLOLOL

I flew this route in Flight Simulator and was not detained at the airport, not sure what they did wrong.

Now, I wonder what would happen if a Russian plane covered with cameras flew into US airspace lol

I’m from St. Petersburg. I’ve been to Chokotka many times. Even Russian citizens need a special permit to travel to this region.

I hear Iran is nice this time of year. You should try there too....
  • @elcasey
You were "singled out" for illegally entering Russia, and you're confused why you weren't greeted with open arms?
  • @RottingFarmsTV
"we violated the airspace of a sovereign country, what happened next will shock you"

My best recommendation to garner good-will in a foreign country you are visiting is to learn at least how to say "hello" and "thank you" in the native language if not more ideally, it isn't difficult and it puts a smile on peoples faces and they are much more willing to help someone who puts an effort into speaking their language. Спасибо (Speh-see-buh) means thank you!

Spent 3 months in Russia. I never felt unsafe one time. I was in a small town and visited a big city. You have been watching way too many movies.

You won't believe but even Russians need a special permission to go to Anadyr... You actually extremely lucky 🤣🤣🤣

  • @daves4127
I spent 5 minutes on google and had more information about traveling to this part of Russia than this group.

Just like your debacle in British airspace, google and a little preparation is your friend. I was waiting for a Mig 31 to join you.
  • @jgcruisers
My hat off to you guys. I got my license when I was a kid back in 91. Haven't been up since. But I'm thinking about getting back . Was flying piper cherokee and mono cessnas from the 60s. But all planes now look newer and faster. Keep it up guys and keep flying.
  • Much respect for your flying skills and I did enjoy the video thank you.
