Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that progress in the counteroffensive has been “slower than desired” as his forces struggle to make a major breakthrough.

The Ukrainian president said his forces “will advance on the battlefield the way we deem best”, as he sought to manage expectations, adding that some people were guilty of thinking the war was like a “Hollywood movie”.

Ukraine has managed to recapture eight small villages as part of its counter-offensive operations in the south over the past couple of weeks. In the past day, forces have had “partial success” as they continue attacking on the southern front while weathering a major assault in the east, a senior Ukrainian defence official said on Wednesday.

love the sound of the Challenger tanks awesome 👌👌👌
  • I don't know how good it is after Leopard 2A6. But Challenger 2 is still best looking MBT for me
  • Love it but us brits need more tanks, we only have a hundred or so challenger 2s in service which is embarrassingly low

During the 2003 invasion of Iraq the Challenger 2 tanks suffered no tank losses to enemy fire, although one was penetrated by an IED. This was, at the time, unprotected by Dorchester armour. The driver was injured. In one encounter within the urban area a Challenger 2 came under attack from irregular forces with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades. The driver's sight was damaged and while attempting to back away under the commander's directions, the other sights were damaged and the tank threw its tracks entering a ditch. It was hit directly by fourteen rocket propelled grenades from close range and a MILAN anti-tank missile.[14] The crew survived remaining safe within the tank until the tank was recovered for repairs, the worst damage being to the sighting system. It was back in operation six hours later after repairs. One Challenger 2 operating near Basra survived being hit by 70 RPGs in another incident
  • At least the UK sending tanks broke the “deadlock” and others have followed

  • @VR46314
Meanwhile the abrams are late , imagine that USA late to battle

Let’s hope the training was good enough to provide rapid fire support for the infantry who have to work to protect the tanks from Russian anti tank teams while breaking through Russian lines.

God speed from the UK 🇬🇧🇺🇦. Give them hell.
  • @rusavolk
I love the smell of burning challenger. They were hiding them for two months, in vain.

Looks like the Chally tanks suplied lack the extra armour packages. Wouldn't make a difference against artillery, but would help a great deal with RPGs & ATGMs.

Not in operation but in promotion clip. We will see how will it manage in mood and drone battlefield reality.

Although i am American i prefer the Challenger over the Abrams tank, the British Centurium tank was one of my favorites.

No lower front plate? I hope this is because its well behind the lines and they are just keeping it light for travel.
