HELLO THERE:
We are Joe and Liisu, full-time travelers from Estonia on a mission to break stereotypes, show diverse cultures and wander in the magical nature. Joe, a seasoned traveler of 8 years, began his journey while working in Australia, New Zealand and Canada (holding over 25 different jobs). Liisu, a former medical doctor, joined the adventure 2 years ago. Now we live on the road, exploring the world either from our backpacks or in a van.

You know what is "scary"! You understand! I am born and raised a christian yet I feel, truely feel the love from Muslims! I have visited many Muslim countries and never once felt afraid, never once felt unwelcome. It is a "scary" religion ONLY because of the media! Thank you for being so honest, so true with your travels. Me, I am not a religious man, I find a lot of religion horrible, yet it is unspoken! Islam has an "inner peace" that must be experienced first hand, not read in the tabloids of hateful christian countries!

I am an ordinary Russian girl who converted to Islam. There are many people who convert to Islam in Russia. I am writing to you from Russia. Islam is a wonderful religion. I am in harmony with myself and feel at ease. Alhamdulillah ๐Ÿคฒ

I've recently made the decision to convert to Islam as i believe its the only true religion left & that all the other religions have lost there ideals, it is a beautiful & simple religion.....Alhamdulliah P.s neither my mother or friends are accepting of my conversion to Islam & my friend of over 2 decades was going to walk away from our friendship because I'm converting to Islam ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”

I'm from the USA. This was a wonderful video. I felt how honest you were. You gave the people a chance to explain to u the reasons behind why they fast, etc. Please post more content. I really enjoyed this. Thank you
  • As a Saudi Arabian woman, I'm telling you, eating in public is not a crime, 99.9% of people fast here, but there are many non muslim foreigners, so there aren't forced to fast during the day.. Not to mention, there are muslims who can't fast due to illness, or pregnant women who can't fast or women on their period. Also, travelers are given the choice not to fast in Islam. People wouldn't care about you eating in public because they would assume you have an excuse not to fast. If someone did intentionally and clearly eat to disrespect the holy month or the religion, he'd be surely arrested. No tolerance for any disrespect to our faith and values by the Saudi people or government.

enjoyed your blog my viking freind . watching from norway . your choice of words were excellent. islam is the best gift for humenity .
  • @leo555
Just to correct, eating food is not a crime punishable by law in Saudi Arabia or any other Islamic country. These are just rumors. There are many non-Muslims. Fasting is an Islamic obligation in order to feel what the poor suffer and be humble and more humane. Fasting also has health benefits.

Beautiful story telling my friends. I performed my first Umrah last year. I had tears towards the end of your vid. You truly captured the sense of belonging and warmth of the collective. Peace be on the both of you.

iโ€˜m indonesian, happens to live in Saudi for 4 years, and lemme tell you one of my experiences regarding meeting people of medina (saudis), it happened when we booked a hotel for pilgrim, but we came at 2 AM, was booked with additional bed but when arrived, the concierge said it was no data about it. then we asked it upon arrival. but they donโ€™t charge us for the additional bed. i will never forget that nice saudis concierge who gave free extra bed. โค

  • @hamzagazawi4575
the lady in the video reminds me of my mother when she came to perform Umrah. she was smiling all the journey long (like her). may god guide you both to the truth. <3

Most people would worship during the night and then go back to their hotel after the morning prayer. They would sleep and then get up for the midday prayer and go back to the mosque. Unless of course they live there and have jobs to go to. A friend in Madinah said that schools and offices open later than usual in Ramadan. We donโ€™t have that luxury in the western world. The fact that you walked around all day is why you felt it extra long and then that too in the heat. Allah doesnโ€™t want us to put extra burden on ourselves. But well done for staying committed and congratulations for experiencing the peace of Ramadan. โค
