I loved how the brunette girl was so surprised about fuc*in Leonardo DiCaprio being from Italian heritage. Leonardo Di Caprio.
  • Da italiano a vedere tutti i suoi gesti mi è venuto un infarto. Per il resto confermo anche se tutto molto basico. P.S. Per i turisti: non dite mai polentoni e soprattutto terroni, sono considerati insulti.

There are a bunch of errors in this video. First of all, Scipio Africanus Barbatus never existed, he mixed up two different men. Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus and Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus (the second is the man who defeated Hannibal). The Roman name was made by three parts: praenomen, nomen and cognomen. Preanomen was the same of our name, nomen indicates the gens and cognomen the family. So these two men were Lucius and Publius of the Scipiones family of the Gens Cornelia. Africanus and Barbatus was something like honorific nicknames, Africanus because he defeated Hannibal and Barbatus probably because he was a wise person. Italy has only four casinos (Venezia, Sanremo, Campione d'Italia and Saint Vincent) and the biggest is in Saint Vincent, not in Campione d'Italia. The casinos are legally banned in all the Italian territory except for these 4 places. Italy is usually splitted in 3 parts and not 2: North, Center and South/Islands. And Italy has more than 800 islands, but only 77 inhabitated. The active volcanoes in Italy are 12, not 3. One of them - the Campi Flegrei - is a Supervolcano, one of the 10 more dangerous volcanoes in the world. It extends for 450 square km and the land in that area rises and falls like a breathing chest. Stromboli is the most active volcano in Europe, it has erupted on average every half hour for at least 20 thousand years. It don't snow only in the north, there is a city in the Southern Italy that have the record for the biggest snowfall ever recorded in the world (256 cm - 100 inches in 24 hours). Italy has not a National Animal. Italians are not so different, Italy has the highest genetic diversity in Europe, Italy has the same heterogeneity as all the rest of Europe, but the genetic diversity in Europe is generally low, a lot lower then the genetic diversity in any African country for example. None of the companies he mentions are in the top 20 of the largest Italian companies. Here the top: Enel (the largest private electricity distribution company in the world), GME (Energy), Eni (national oil company), Generali (insurance), Edison (Energy), A2A (multy-utility), Intesa San Paolo (bank), Unicredit (bank), Hera (multy-utility), Conad (Supermarket), GSE (Energy), Leonardo (defense, aerospace and security), Prysmian (cables), Kupit and Saras (oil companies), TIM (telecommunications), Unipol (insurance), Esso (the Italian branch of Exxon), Coop (supermarket), Ferrovie dello Stato (railways), Poste Italiane (postal and banking service). And then Ferrero, FCA Italy, Iveco, Parmalat, Mapei, Fincantieri, Luxottica (glasses company that owns brands like Persol, Ray-ban, Oliver People, Oakley and produces glasses for the following brands: Tiffany, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Armani, Valentino, Versace, Chanel, Bulgari, etc. if you ever own a pair of glasses, it was probably made by Luxottica) etc... To be honest I'm a little bit tired of the cliché that Italy is just cars and fashion. Plus a bunch of spelling errors: Venezia, not Venzia, Valentino Rossi not Alentino Rossi, Lamborghini and not Lambourghini, Trentino-Alto Adige or Trentino-Sudtirol and not Trentino Alto or Sudtirol.

Io che sono letteralmente esploso a ogni parola pronunciata male
  • @Italveloper
As an Italian I’m having an heart attack just by reacting to all the errors
  • "Terroni" i believe it was because there are a lot people working in the fields in the south (ground = terra => terroni. it's used as a slur tho)
  • 7:54 I'll exain, simply "Terroni" derived from "Terra" which means "Dirt", simply cause in the south there are a lot of Farmers, so who WORKS the dirt

Fun fact: Good part of the prequel trilogy of star wars was recorded in Italy. Episode 1 Naboo's royal palace inside is Royal Palace of Caserta, Episode 2 Como's lake is where Anakin and Padme kissed , Episode 3 Anakin and Obi Wan fight on Mustafar was recorded near Etna, the most active volcano of the country

has forgotten Madonna among people of Italian origin.
  • Hello both of you, yes you can see how beautiful it is in Europe. I already wrote in another comment that you will also be surprised by the food in Europe. It's not like you know it from the USA. But if you want to come to Europe then discover it your way, far away from the tourist hustle and bustle. But we can promise you one thing: sometimes you will be surprised and many things will blow your mind. But we don't want to promise too much, you have to get to know Europe for yourself. There are a lot of Americans who have stayed here after visiting Europe, why is self-explanatory.
  • @konyvnyelv.
As a Northern Italian, I don't regard myself to be the same as a Greek.
  • @Kasai-Shibata
