Patricia Routledge was absolutely wonderful. She provided a genuine journey through time. I came away appreciating Beatrix Potter like never before. Patricia thank you.
  • Never had Beatrix Potter as a child. No idea why but read a few later. So glad her scientific paper was mentioned as well. So many female scientists have gone unsung.

My mother, born in 1913, told me about meeting Beatrix Potter wearing gunny sacks. At the time, my mother lived near Keswick, Cumbria. There is still a real estate business named Hellis, which was her husband's name. The Lake District of Cumbria is full of history about her.

As a child, my older sister and I had the complete works of Miss Potter's stories. Sadly we had moved around a lot in our youth with our mom and we lost a fair amount of them. But we still have a nice little amount. Their stories were always enchanting and timeless. I am absolutely in awestruck with what she had created. She is hands-down one of my favourite authors and illustrators.

I am amazed to hear of the discovery but sad that it will not have her Stunning watercolors to accomeny it. Blakes drawings for me will forever be linked to Roald Dhal 's books

I love Beatrix Potter stories. I still own many of the books, a tea set, and a lamp. <3 The audio book collection on Audible is fantastic and I hope future generations will also be able to enjoy the stories for years to come!

I completely forgot about these precious little books, I will now start collecting them and reading them to my grandson... he is just two and loves me reading to him🌟🌸
  • Oh my goodness! What a fascinating little documentary! And narrated by the wondrous Patricia Routledge. This is a must-see. I love this.
  • One of my dreams is to meet the indomitable Patricia and buy her lunch, and have a proper chat...I absolutely treasure this lady.
  • A wonderful documentary save for the shocking let-down at the end. The rendering of Kitty in Boots, crude and grotesque, is beyond disappointing -- it's heartbreaking. Perhaps appropriate to the work some other writer, but not Beatrix Potter. An illustrator should have been found who was capable of replicating Potter's style -- not only as a fitting homage to Potter, but out of respect for her readers who derive so much joy from the delicacy and faithfulness with which she portrayed the beauty of animals.

I love Beatrix Potter, and I love the actress Patricia Routledge. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Patricia talking about Beatrix; I get lost deep into the story. I think it would be wonderful if a biographical miniseries was made with Patricia playing Beatrix. There would have to be a DVD set as well. xoxo's Sandie

I love how the horses seemed to be listening to the story when the book was being read in the stables
