Now correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the girl is singing about how even after millions of years we still continue to make the same mistakes as the people did in the past, resulting in the same issues that existed back then.

This whole song give me the vibe of this girl traveling back in time to prevent her present, which is a crumbling, destroyed future because of some major world disaster. She finds you and says you’re important to the plan to save the world, but she won’t explain it to you no matter how many times you ask, instead talking about how special and unique you are but not elaborating at all, and how she’s not going to make the same mistakes and be like the people of her time. This is the background music to a montage of them time-traveling and escaping from dinosaurs and medieval punishment all the while running from the future time police or something. It’s really cool.

I just realized that the name of this channel is MARINA and Lana Del Rey. It's a no-brainer; I hit 'subscribe'. Love these ladies.

i have a lot of personal interpretations for this song, both spiritual and non-spiritual. but right now the lines "our ancestors had to fight to survive just so we could have a chance to survive", "we're now living in a seminal age, the walls are being broken and we're ready for change", and "you don't have to fit into the norm, you are not here to conform" really resonate with me as a queer black person. like "be your ancestor's wildest dreams". i don't think marina had that in mind but that's still the feeling it gives me

This song makes me think of a dystopian era where there is a princess that see the problems in society, while the king and queen barely acknowledge what's happening to the poorer community. Everytime that the princess tries to share her ideas, her parents don't listen/don't care. So, she starts a secret revolution and after a while she runs away to continue the revolution. She takes interest to one of the younger girls and decides to make her into her student. She tells her the plans to come.

This is gonna blow up like crazy when its found on the bigger stage. I've just heard it once and already I can tell I'll be listening to this for the whole week. And continue to listen to it as my life continues on. Subtlety changing me.

I love Marina... Why is she so underrated?

I truly wonder how non-spiritual people feel about this song. It's like a reminder that we're greater than our physical bodies, that we're all one but we have different purposes and challenges in our life times. We're not the reflection of the mirrors or what other people say we are. You're also not your ego. The voice that tells you that you're hideous is NOT you. The line "I'm the observer, I'm the witness of life" is the thing that's you. The ego is hard to fight but don't give up. So what if you're not like anyone else? Be you only, learn from mistakes and find the thing that's meant for you. Don't be afraid to stick out.

This song not only gives me a feeling of power, but describes exactly what I want to be: a non physical observer. I don’t want a body, it’s something I need to take care of to keep it alive, it distracts me from learning about everything I can understand right now. 😕
