  • the marketplace genuinely looks like the average 7 year old among us clickbait youtuber fan's recommended section but in minecraft
  • I think Bedrock would be viewed in a much greater light if mods weren't restricted to a single world
  • As a java mod developer I can totally one most points you said. I've had several websites steal my mod and reupload it, which is quite annoying especially because other websites plaster it with ads. Some websites you can upload your mods to like curseforge actually have a type of reward programm, giving you a very, very small amount of money depending on the popularity of your mod, sponsorships exist, although most of the sponsorship sellers only approach modpack developers, but most of this is a joke compared to the amount of wealth some Bedrock devs aquire.

Again - good concept, awful execution. Yes, giving money to creators for their work is good, but: allowing clearly copyrighted content to generate income, making every purchase instantly final, and hiding all the rules behind a curtain is simply unacceptable. I wish market creators would just anonymously spill all the information to the public.
  • Stolen and low-effort content, along with how buggy it is really ruins it for me. The fact that Microsoft refuses to do anything about it is what makes me despise it. These malicious creators prey on the game’s young audience, exploiting them for what is probably their parent’s money. Such a shame.

I personally play on bedrock and don’t like the marketplace. It’s poorly designed and so silly. Why would you buy a map for real world money when you can just download it online. Honestly no point. It just feels like theft especially for those who actually designed the content It works in theory but not in practice
  • @skyde72
The marketplace is trying to be as unbiased as possible while being as biased as possible
  • @--Paws--
Even the dev and creator of the Aether mod was upset by the fact someone has that mod for sale in the Market. There is no escape...
  • Some things to add on here from my time. -Content about herobrine and storylines where the player themselves are forced to commit a crime is banned. Minecraft themselves don't follow their own guidelines. In the new free "peace builders" map there is extreme hate speech of which showing on YouTube would probably get you a channel strike. Content that first accepted but then later realized voilates terms or laws (like copyright) can't physically be removed, only unlisted from search. (if the UUID was saved when it was up, you now have the url to boot it up to buy it) The UUID can be found in the URL of the marketplace website or in a press release by the team who built it. -Marketplace content is unplayable if you lose internet connection (won't let you create the world even if the files is locally stored), even if your still logged in. -If Microsoft ever decides to end internet account support, you will be lock out of the content you bought
  • The Marketplace is such a good idea, but just hasn't been executed all that well. It's really awesome that creators are able to get paid for their work, but Microsoft/Minecraft are fumbling the bag for themselves and the creators by seemingly not caring about it much other than the big brand collaborations :(

There really is no excuse for a company the size of microsoft not to have a team that could deal with these issues, they could easily afford to hire a team to "blitz" through what is currently there, overhaul the system, then reduce down to a smaller team that would be on going to manage new things created it would take time to go through it all and probably would be a messy thing to get going but if done right, would result in a much better system for all and I think would really not effect their bottom line in the long term as they could start building up trust. good vid mate, cheers
  • The market place also had an issue where after large updates they took down certain items only to replace them with an updated version, so for example when Minecraft pocket edition was just the pocket edition it had the marketplace first, I had bought a bunch of things but the highlights were the ,Christmas 2016, city, fantasy, and plastic texture packs, which are all still on the market place, however when all platforms switched to the bedrock engine which is what PE was running on first the market place went through an update and in said update all of those texture packs I mentioned were taken down and then replaced with an updated version, and so I just lost those texture packs among other things with no compensation, in total I lost about 50 dollars worth of stuff, which granted isn’t a lot but this happened when I was a young kid and so getting money to spend on things was rare, and then suddenly it was all just gone
  • I remember the days when people use to put a bunch of effort and care (mostly) to their maps for Java Minecraft. The marketplace could've been more great. . . its unfortunate for the Java Players who likely can't do shit about their content stolen for the Bedrock Marketplace. This makes the Bedrock Marketplace look bad. . . and its unfortunate how it is. The Cons outway the Pros.
  • Well just because minecraft keeps on posting stuff about LGBT and still has a pride profile pic doesnt mean that they care about them, they dont care about you Especially Your sexual orientation, The only thing they do care about is your money, Every company does this in pride month. Its best to be brutally honest then blatantly lying and pretending you care.
  • If lgbt content should be here then christian Islamic and Jewish content should be here as well not just the former
  • @blackbeast9268
Wait you're telling me companies don't actually care about LGBT and just want brownie points? Who would have thought? What's next? Politicians lie ? Drinking water is important? Very hard to believe
  • "Nothing can be done" is a lie. What you mean is, "They refuse to pay to do anything about it, even though that is their responsibility." Just because you're a big corporation doesn't mean you get to break laws, which is what they're doing by allowing copyrighted content. If they can't filter it out, they need to shut down the marketplace.
  • @bruh83483
The fact that people buy skins for IRL money kills me 💀
  • The no refund thing is probably my biggest problem with the marketplace. Sucks paying for something that looks good on marketplace but is lacking in depth gameplay wise. Making bad content should not be financially rewarded. Also the review part of a packs page is really lacking, paid for highly rated stuff only to be disappointed.
