Need 6 coalition of all Europe for defeat French Napoleonian Empire. LOL
  • I'm french and i've liked this video. But I've also noticed one mistake. Even if Paris was an important city, during the roman period, the most important city of Gallia was Lugdunum (which is known nowadays as Lyon). Paris became the capital many years later. Even during Charlemagne's regn, the capital wasn't Paris but Aachen in actual Germany (or Aix-la-Chapelle as the french say it). After the siege of Paris by the vikings, the king Charles (who was considerd as a coward) lost lots of influence on the kingdom. The count of Paris who was considered as a saver of the city uses his popularity to earn power. It's the transition between the carolingiens and the capetians who will become the biggest dynastie in whole Europe. And it is also with these events that Paris became the capitale.

"En 1998 et en 2018, la france remporta la coupe du monde de football"
  • That lack of surrendering jokes in the comments section I think we can define a part of happiness there

I have a feeling this is going to be a massive channel
  • @dehkos4490
Why didn't you talk about Charles de Gaulle during the WWII?
  • @mreldude
You left out Louis XIV. You didn't even mention him!
  • @Suibhne
Sorry if i made mistakes. There will always be some here and there :)
  • @trlacr1781
You didn't mentioned the "France Libre" of Charles de Gaulle...
  • @tonyhawk94
Interesting video but you did not mention that France had a special position during the cold war and was not exactly a member of the western bloc. :)
  • @Thor.Jorgensen
0:48 Paris was rarely "skipped" by vikings. It in fact was a common place to visit, due to the fact that the Parisians commonly surrendered valuables to the Vikings if they left them in peace. Various Britannian kingdoms did the same, even more so than the French.

^^ IN ENGLISH ; It is extremely simplified but generally correct, I understand well that it is necessary to summarize a max to make some popularization but France has a History of most precises, most complete, varied and interesting in the World, not to say the most ... I think that you would have been able to linger a little more over the Renaissance which was quickly botched. But especially, the History of France, as all the others, is not only a military History but it also consists by numerous technical, intellectual, scientific progress and figure as the cultural power the most developed in most of the times even by the History of the humanity. The graphic work is remarkable, bravo ! ^^

Wow! never knew a history of a major country can be this easy to memorize! I thought this was going to be really hard! I do know that you simplified it a lot for people to understand better so I’m going to have to go to more detailed videos looking at specific timelines of France! Amazing job thought!
  • @MrThomPS3
