This is the end of an era. The Big 12 will sorely miss Texas and Oklahoma. When I first started watching college football as a kid when the Big 12 was just coming into existence, it was the best conference in college football. Nebraska, Texas, Kansas State, Colorado, and Oklahoma were all elite teams, and they played NFL-style defense. The Big 12 Championship Game had a ton of memorable moments, like when Texas A&M upset Kansas State in 2OT, Colorado picked off Chris Simms eight times, Vince Young put up I think 70 or 80 on CU, Kansas State exposed the supposedly greatest team of all-time (according to the ESPN pundits), and the Nebraska-Texas game with the Colt McCoy clock controversy. The Big 12 brought this game back in the wake of the TCU-Baylor situation early in the CFP era, but it won't be the same now that the last of the two traditional powers are leaving for the SEC.

As an Oklahoma state fan, gg to Texas, go make the playoffs and beat any SEC team that may be there. I honestly don’t understand the hate for Texas leaving. OU makes sense geographically and because I don’t think OU will fare as well as texas. Plus Quinn Ewers is a stud. Anyway, I didn’t think we really had a shot but it’s hard to not be disappointed in the way ok state played today.

Coming from a Oklahoma Sooners fan that remembers how they made and sold shirts that said we are not afraid of Texas and acted like we won a national championship after the red river game. 🤦🏾‍♂️ You get the last laugh, conference championship and maybe a chance in the playoffs….
