For anyone looking, you can get the Mentats and Berry Mentats recipe at the Whitesprings Bunker in the medical bay MODUS terminal.

I run a water camp near V76 AND the Train station ,and use a very specific method. Underground inaccessible camp full of vintage water coolers, get that 1600 daily caps from robot vendors (that’s just for starters). Make a BIG SIGN that says “EASY CAPS FOR NEW PLAYERS” Then a smaller sign with these instructions : BUY WATER FOR 2 CAPS EACH, SELL TO VENDOR FOR PROFIT. THE MORE YOU BUY, THE MORE YOU SELL, THE MORE CAPS YOU MAKE! Noobs come and make use of this, and grind to reach their daily vendor limit (1600 caps) It’s a gift to them, and you get a constant source of caps trickling in. Once built, all you have to do is occasionally empty the coolers and fill up your vendor. Easypeasy!

I struggle to keep an inventory because I sell EVERYTHING for 5 caps or less. Granted I know that people probably buy my goods to resell them for a higher price, but my main goal is just to get rid of the things I don’t want, and as storage until the robo vendors refresh

You can use the Whitespring golf club hidden entrance too, if you've completed the Deep previously.

Emmett Mountain disposal has tons of Brain Fungus, too. Once inside (where RR takjes place), go right, then left past the desk guy, into the cave. Around 10 fungi spawns there.

The deep is a really good spot to collect things as you said! its what i used to use to get these. Now I'l use both!

no wonder there was no starlight berries in my usual haunts hehe but do know where there is a ton of carrot flowers as well this is a very helpful guid as well i think i saw your base too MR.WEST TEK, the weapons 3 star ones was super high yes but i do want to save up for just the holy flamer or ill keep working at it til i get one but man you sure went through a lot to get all those much appreciated m8, i still trying to get that specific perk card too hehe.

awesome guide, noticed as well while playing the wastelanders questline in carolton mine there are lots of brain fungus that are very accessible!

Wendigo cave has a few brain fungus spawns as well. Glowing fungus also. My go to for daily/weekly picking challenges. Sadly I am a lazy player and don't pop chems/food strategically for boosts besides carry weight from grilled radstag and canned coffee. I mostly use the firecap to make disease cure.

Been server hoping a few trader locations along with the modus terminal for the past few days looking for the Berry Mentats recipe and have had no luck lol. Is this the only way to get the recipe?

I have so many excess items that I like to play fallout 76 as a merchant where I just kind of wonder around and go to players during things and try to sell them stuff that they need at easy prices

You can buy the plan from the white spring bunker pretty easily for 1200 caps

You made a load of mentats and then didn't have enough brain fungus left over to turn them into berry mentats? Did you go farm more during the time between you showing you had 0/1 brain fungus and then having 400 berry mentats in the inventory?

Berry Mentats are used as caps in online trading which is why they sell fast.

Sugar Bombs sell pretty fast as well. A santatron collectron gets them for you

Firecaps spawn around most of the random encounter locations as well.

1. brain fungus you should go to radiation rumble there is a tunnel on the right side whenever you first enter that has a ridiculous amount and you don't have to worry about fighting anything or you could go to Big Ben tunnel and just go down all the side tunnels because there's a ridiculous amount in there as well. 2. For carrot flower go to Palace of the winding path/ guided meditation. In the front there is also a ridiculous amount of carrot flower.
