Correction: Earth-One Wonder Woman was killed by the Ant-Monitor, not Earth-Two. The ending with Zeus was ambiguously worded, the Alex Ross cover has him holding Wonder Woman opposite Earth-One Superman and Supergirl in the same pose so it lent credibility to my interpretation, and multiple Wikis including the DC Wiki listed it as Earth-Two. However, many of you guys politely pointed out the difference in costume design. I thought it was a solid interpretation, but can totally admit when I'm wrong. Plus, this is another great example of Wikis not always being accurate!

I still think it's the most bitter irony that the entire point of Crisis was to make the DC universe/continuity simpler and easier to understand. But in the end it has only resulted in making it more complicated than it was before. It also began DC's unhealthy obsession with doing reboots to clean up their continuity, which only made things worse.

George Perez’s hands must have been in agony after drawing all those Crisis characters. Still miss his art :(
  • @prime7213
Love how Golden Age Superman was sent to a paradise dimension to give him a happy ending only for DC to yoink him out again 20 years later just to have him beaten to death by Prime.

I miss Pre-Crisis DC. I never had a problem with understanding the different earths. I loved them, as it was special to see Shazam and Superman together.

I feel like this is one of those stories that even people with a passive interest in comics know just a little bit about but not anywhere close to the whole story

I was horrified when this came out. Yet I could not stop reading it. Comic books were a huge part of my life. It was a who's who on talent, things that went back since b4 I was born. All just seemly tossed away like it all meant nothing. Comics helped teach me how to read. I still to this day am horrified and fascinated by the impact it has had ever since. I was born in 1962... a lot of insane things have gone on and the mad house keeps getting more insane and the lunatics are no longer on the grass... they are running everything.

I forgot how much the Anti-Monitor came back in this story. He really pulled more William Aftons than William Afton himself. (If you know you know)

I am so excited for all of the possible comic events Drake has yet to cover.

Happy for the nod to Arrowverse's take on COIE. It may have been victim to the ever tightening purse strings of CW, but it did honor the spirit of the comic with so many great cameos and nods to all of live action DC, even the old DCEU with ErzaFlash, who got his hero name from GustinFlash. Also love the Marv Wolfman cameo, that was endearing. Plus they did really good build up to the event, all the way from the first episode of Flash. Still love the S08Ep01 Arrow episode that ended with the wall of white erasing the Arrowverse Earth 2. Great vid!

This is probably one of the best dc universe storylines no doubt
  • COIE was the first DC Comics event I read. Being fairly new to comics, I just assumed it would be a year-long JLA/JSA team up. I saw the ads... "Worlds will live! Worlds will die!" I scoffed. I thought.. This is DC! Nobody is gonna die! Then, I bought the first issue... Earth 3 was wiped out! I thought ... "Oh, CRAP!" I never missed an issue! I loved it!
  • @CaptainCat101
Still makes more sense than the stuff at DC Studios right now
  • @Egg_Sandwich1
The cameos from other comic creator’s throughout the videos were a great touch. Hearing Troy and panda specifically was a huge shock to me.

17:10 Correction: the Anti-Monitor fired his beams at the Earth-1 Wonder Woman, causing her to be unmade.

19:35 I would prefer all of the DC heroes retaining their memories of everything pre-Crisis since the first Crisis in 1985. That way, they would recall their entire pre-Crisis history and would be told by others what changes happened since the first Crisis.

19:04 Nice Nostalgia Critic reference, Drake. It actually reminded of a Linkara Crisis video where he said the Psycho-Pirate became the Nostalgia Critic because Psycho-Pirate being the only one who remembers the infinite earths.
  • 19:29 You know that quote makes me wonder if sometimes it's okay when the characters loose their memories, the event gets changed because time travel, and etc. Considering that only us the readers will forever cherish and remember such events.

21:26 I’ve read it, and it’s a nice comic. However, a few changes I would make is to make sure that Wonder Woman’s pre-Crisis history would retain post-Crisis (so that Donna Troy’s history won’t get screwed over), Power Girl keep her Kryptonian origins (and have her be found by the Earth-One/New Earth Superman and join the JSA) and Supergirl’s history be kept (without Superman’s history being screwed over), Superman’s Superboy history be kept (without the Legion continuity being screwed over), Batman’s pre-Crisis roots be kept (because I like a Batman who is fun, witty, understanding, and compassionate alongside his appearance as a dark and mysterious character), and the Golden and Silver Age Hawks coexist on the same earth (with Hawkworld either be set early in the Silver Age Hawks’ careers or be an Elseworlds story) just to make sense of it all. Before the post-Crisis version of the first Crisis, all the Golden Age superheroes would be active from 1938 to the early 1950s, with Captain Marvel (and all the Fawcett heroes) being active from 1939 to their disappearance in 1953, the JSA being active from 1940 to 1951, the Seven Soldiers being active from 1941 to their disappearance in 1948, the Freedom Fighters being active from 1941 to 1956, and the All-Star Squadron being active from 1941 to around 1945. The Silver Age superheroes would make their debut starting with the coming of Superman in 1968 (since Superman was born in Krypton in 1945 before he arrived on Earth in 1948 and made his debut as Superboy in 1956 (the year that the Silver Age started publication), Wonder Woman in 1967, Arthur Curry Aquaman in 1969, Batman in 1970, Barry Allen Flash in 1973, Hal Jordan Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter (even though he arrived in 1955) in 1975, Green Arrow in 1971 (with his Golden Age adventures happening via time travel from 1941 to 1948 with Roy Harper Speedy), Silver Age Hawkman and Hawkwoman and Ray Palmer Atom in 1977, and Dinah Laurel Lance Black Canary in 1979. The JLA would form in 1975 and would meet and team up with the JSA (who came out of retirement the first time in 1963 before they retired in 1968) in 1978, Flash of Two Worlds would happen in 1977 (after Keystone City was in suspended animation on the night that Barry Allen became the second Flash in 1973), the Charleston Comics heroes would be active since the arrival of Captain Atom in 1975, Kara Zor-El would arrive on Earth from Argo City in 1975, the Teen Titans would form in 1978 before becoming the New Teen Titans in 1983, Infinity Inc and the Outsiders would form in 1983, the Fawcett heroes would return from suspended animation in 1980, and the Freedom Fighters would reform since 1981. By the time of the first Crisis in 1985, all the heroes and villains had worked together to defeat the Anti-Monitor, resulting in the death of Supergirl, Barry Allen Flash, and many others. That is what I should do for the post-crisis timeline before the first Crisis.

Something about "Martian Manhunter's about to die, dude!" line really got me.
