Picking the right fly fishing flies can be difficult, especially if you are a beginner! Learning to identify bugs and fly patterns is a skill that will come with time out on the water. Ive actually had the most success on rivers especially with high pressure using random flies with no rhyme or reason. Sometimes fish just like seeing different stuff! Thats why I like tying random, fun things. Love this video.

Absolutely the best series / channel I have found. Clear, logical and entertainingly presented. Videos are perfect length as well. Thanks for all of the great info. I hadn’t picked up a fly rod in nearly 30 years. Since then the tail waters on the South Holston River here in East Tennessee have exploded with anglers. The trout have become super picky.
