You can do everything in Ableton what you have done in Studio One. Drag and drops, saving clips etc, it's even possible to convey something from your previous projects with its all fx chain. And as for the mixing section, you're able to do that without dealing with popping up windows (that's what had made me switch to Ableton from FL)

I used ableton & studio one but I like more logic, because of it's simplicity. Ableton is best for audio editing, logic best for fast workflow, while studio one handles audio very well!

This vid makes me love more my studio one 😍

You can actually get shorter notes in studio one, if you are using the pattern mode. It has a repeat feature, which let's you create trap hats and similar things very easily. Plus the pattern mode has some other useful features for beatmaking
  • Never Used Ableton but I LOVE LOVE LOVE S1 I use it every day!!! I subbed by the way! Im always mining for mixing tips I cant get enough!
  • I have both of the free versions of Ableton Live (Lite) and Studio One 6 (Artist), which I activated when I bought their respective manufacturer's USB interfaces. I couldn't get anywhere on Ableton Live, however I'm mixing my Livestream audio very effectively on S1 with both stock and 3rd party plug-ins. Not bashing Ableton, just that Studio One is working well for me and for my current use needs.

clever video concept. what you both wish was different in your preferred daw and then see what, if any cross over exists

I like grouping channels and making a global FX chain for those tracks. For instance, if I need an EQ across all my tracks, like using a high-pass filter on everything not bass related, to make room for the bass. Super quick and easy, plus it saves a lot of CPU compared to dropping an EQ on each track that needs it.

love ableton i dont think ill ever change anymore. occasionally use logic for Video sync
  • @sandrvoxon
Everything what was about studio one it have in ableton ! Everything ! Even drag and drop !
  • @beat942
you can actually assign melodyne as sample editor so you dont have to wait for audio to transfer though it makes it little difficult to check vocal in context of backing track
  • I have both Daws and have used them for years. Studio One suits me better. I use Ableton to do jam sessions with Push. If an idea for a track comes out of it, I'll finish it in Studio One.

The best Part of Studio one is Macros Solid workflow Pipeline Chord, arrangement and video track Only daw which provides show page nd mastering page Something i really need in studio one is Modulation!

Thanks for the vid as it is always good to hear from people that are using these tools professionally. The timing is great as I'm just now debating a Sphere commitment along with V6. As a long time S1 user (since v2) I love S1 but appreciate Ableton's strengths (that I'm just learning). As a creator, I was a let down with v6 as I hoped it would add to the creation side. They seem to be moving more and more towards the studio engineer (their bread and butter as a company) and away from the creator (no innovative new instruments, effects, sequencing tools). I'm just hoping the Fender acquisition dies not accelerate this movement away from the creator. At the end of the day, no tool does everything for everyone, so I suspect S1 will live along side tools like Ableton and others that cater a bit more to the creator. Thanks again. subbed
  • i noticed exactly what your talking about with third party plugins. my machine isnt the greatest but it isnt a slouch either and ive noticed like the kit plugins really hit the cpu when u stack them up. the motown eq is unuseable so far. but if you can believe pro tools is way better at this. maybe the aax format has something to do with it but i was hoping presonus would do more about this for version 6 but they didnt seem too
