When we look back at the all time greats like LeBron, Kobe, Steph, Dirk and Giannis. They all had moments where they had meltdowns and had times of failure. There were narratives being told about their legacies and they had something to prove to everyone and they found the will to win on their own terms and each of them had their defining moment for their careers on the biggest stage that will forever be viewed in a positive way and that is what made them legends. But for KD, he has had amazing moments on the biggest stage but he has never had his defining moment for his career. His legacy will be viewed differently to many as someone who joined the greatest regular season team of all time after losing to them in a winnable series. A player who won titles but they were never viewed as “real championships”. Someone who left a team that was able to win before and after his departure and a player who failed to win without a superteam. So while Durant is a 2x Champion, he paid the ultimate price that would leave his legacy when it is all said and done…Fractured.

1 ring in OKC would've meant more for his legacy than the 2 he got with the Warriors.
  • @damroll
The most damaging part is that the Warriors won a championship BEFORE his arrival and AFTER his departure.

When Booker said “who’s gonna guard all of us?” Somebody should’ve answered “who’s gonna play defence?”

It really is sad. Skill wise and ability to score he probably is one of the greatest ballers ever, but he will never be talked about as a goat

KD is the definition of “can’t beat em then join em”…😂😂😂

“It’s not what you do but HOW YOU DO IT; How you do anything is how you will do EVERYTHING”. KD showed how true these statements are.

kevin when you’re reading this on your burner just know it’s all true.

Loooollll Warriors fans saying he should’ve stayed with GS. No. He should’ve stayed in OKC. Period. And the window for him to ever return to OKC closed in 2021.

I’m an “old head” when it comes to the NBA. To make an 1980s comparison, Kevin Durant joining Golden State would be like Michael Jordan joining either the Celtics or Pistons in the 1980s. That would have been unheard of back then. Jordan would have never even considered joining either team. On the other side, both Bird and Isiah would have never signed off on that either. Unfortunately, things changed when LeBron went to Miami. Players wanted to take shortcuts and form super teams. I’m glad that super team era is dying out now.
  • @nettlarry
He wanted to prove he could do it without Steph. Now he knows he can't. Should've stayed in OKC. Or at least then in Oakland. Kicked himself out of any GOATish debate.

It’s almost as if tht last Bucks game KD literally played his heart n soul away. Tht fire n desire is gone and left it in BK. It’s like he just playing to play now.
  • @otisyoungblood
He see how easy it was playing with Steph and Klay in their shooting primes. Imagine always being open because they triple team steph

What people forget is that in 5 years since leaving Golden State, KD has literally won no individual titles or awards. No 1st Team All NBA, No finals appearances, no MVP,. Nothing. KD literally made one All NBA 2nd team in 5 years. That's it! Steph on the other hand has won a title, FMVP, scoring title, ASG MVP, 3 point, 1st Team All NBA... This proves that Steph was the bus driver at GSW.
