📖 Our Story:
We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.

Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

My preference would be for stone paving around the walkways and perimeter of the house. This will anchor it, be less maintenance and give you a flow around the house. It could even be extended as terrace into the future. With the amount of land you have, you will have ample flower and green areas to break up the contrast. Also - planting in movable pots will give you lots of style and landscaping choices. Whatever you decide….will be considered and magnificent ❤️
  • The roof line against the mountains must be one of the most stunning home comings. You will never tire of the daily changes of your area.

Greetings from 🇮🇪 This video is a gift from very gifted people. THANKS. When it comes to enhancing your outdoor space, pavers are a versatile and stylish choice. Not only do they offer durability and functionality, but they also offer endless possibilities for creativity and design. They can transform a simple patio, driveway or entryway into a visually captivating and functional space.

I loved the tour! So many projects that still need to be done, but so many more that are already done! Loved the take in the bathroom with Vince showing in the mirror while filming you. Beautiful house, beautiful grounds ❤❤❤

It looks like the driveway and gardens were very well built a long time ago. A gradual restoration will bring back their glory with very little money, just hard work.

Congratulations! Knowing there are people like you in the world: thoughtful, conscientious and principled gives me great comfort and hope. Thank you for sharing your efforts.
  • That little piece of furniture on the kitchen counter is Dutch. The word eiren means eggs, meel means flour, rijst is rice, vermicelli is noodles, koffie is coffee, suiker is sugar, thee is tea. Incredible, they have a small piece of Dutch culinary culture. 😊😊👍👍

Perhaps a stone or brick path around the entrance will keep the dust down around the entrance and tie into the outdoor patio. It's always nice to live in the space and get the feel of it before purchasing pieces that make your home personal. I like this idea. I think this first bedroom will make a wonderful office. The ceiling light fixture in the bedroom is very beautiful. The stainless backsplash in the kitchen adds another amazing detail to the room. It reflects the light and your movement. Awesome choice. It's amazing what the two of you have achieved already. Bravo!!! ❤

Greeting from Miami. I hope you keep the stone path around the house, it really complements the structure and the back patio came out awesome. Love the work, wish it was me there. Enjoy the process and congratulations.

The wisteria plant is going to be a wonderful component to your outdoor patio, no matter what you choose for the seating. Thank you for such a great video. You are creating a slice of paradise for yourselves. Well done! ❤
  • The aerial in this video is awesome. You are very isolated where you live which I love. What a beautiful place! I really like that you’ve combined the old with the new. The inside work and the outside work have turned out so beautifully. You’ve both done a wonderful job making this a lovely place to live. ❤
  • Definitely make a stone or paver walkway around the house! Gravel will just add to the dust and you will forever be cleaning it out of everywhere! Instead of grass that can grow fast and require cutting, you can get seeds of native or environment-compatible ground cover that has limited vertical height. Consider creating concrete risers and topping with brick or stone pavers to create WIDE steps from the higher parking elevation to the walkway around the house.

Thank you both for that video. It filled in some gaps in my understanding. Maddi, your architectural profession really came out in your descriptions of how and why you made the choices you did. Nice job! One thing for certain, we will have many more videos to enjoy watching the transformation of your home and land. Looking forward to watching you on your journey!❤
A bientôt 👏👏👏👍😃🏡

I like the use of the stones on the exterior of the house, and pergola of metal, wooden pergolas become so work intensive and inconvenient if you plant any vines.
