Its important to understand that Todd's lawyer would have been disbarred by any state BAR if he lied in any of his motions about Todd lying. It would be considered unethical to dismiss a case against your client's wishes and its extra bad to ever lie to the judge about it. The lawyer is an officer of the court, so everything they submit is under oath.
