I like how the prowler miles has a puerto rican accent because his dad died, he was raised by his Mother, so he has a more Latino look than our Miles. great detail in that

Still blows my mind that the entire lego universe sequence was animated single handedly by a 14 year old. The studio saw that he had recreated the trailers for this movie in lego and reached out. Pretty cool thing to add to the resume.

31:14 The way Navi's smile just WIDENS when Pavitr rants about "chai tea". That's just delightful. XDDDD

Everyone says Miguel is some kinda of vampire and I always just went with it. But sitting here now my first thought was “wait…. Spiders bite people too right?!?”
  • In the very first issue of Mile’s comic he won a scholastic lottery to attend the private school. His winning number was 42.

Seeing Navi and Suraj relate and laugh and call out everything in Mumbattan is why representation matters in movies. Loved seeing you all react to this
  • My favorite scene is seeing Miguel trying to break open the portal. I like how his traumatic past is very clearly influencing his personality for the worst. Most tragic backstories are just used to give a character motivation, but you take one look at Miguel and go “yep that’s definitely what a man who watched his child disintegrate in his arms while believing it was entirely his fault would act like”.

Its so adorable seeing Pat, Suraj, and Navi get so excited from seeing Mumbattan and the Indian Spider-Man. Shows just how impactful representation is.
  • The writing around Hobie is BRILLIANT. Before we meet him, since we're in Miles' POV we kinda just initially don't even like the guy, cause Miles sees him as competition for Gwen's affections. But in the span of FIVE MINUTES we are just like "There's no MAN, like Hobie MY GUY!" The Spider-Gang has natural chemistry and when Miles says "Right gang?" it doesn't feel corny or forced at all. Even though these people all just met Miles, that comraderie is there.

It's insane that Spot started off as a joke and slowly became a multiversal threat. And it happened organically too, not because the movie needed a big threat.

And as a father who has two normal human children, I can still confirm that this parent thing is definitely one big ass mystery.

Co-director Kemp Powers shared in an interview about the care that went Spiderman India and the redesign for Pav in the movie. A wardrobe consultant was brought for the desgin of Pav's nehru collar. There was a big importance for notes from a hairstylist as well. The character was initially written as younger and a note was made not to make a Mowgli stereotype and he was aged-up for the movie. The team's Indian animators who each live in different parts of India emailed after the first design was internally released to them and they shared notes that Pav and his universe did not connect to their lives and they wanted to work on it. An all indian writers room was brought in for the movie after this and that whole section of Across the SpiderVerse was rewritten to have a better connection to Indian culture

22:29 I kid you not this was the BIGGEST reaction out of my entire premiere audience, we were SCREAMING
  • My headcanon for Gwen opening the collectible is that they don’t keep them mint in box in her world. Because her world literally paints itself with emotion, I figure the amount of emotion attached to the item has a much greater factor in its price than its physical condition.

I think one of the messages from this movie is that a single conversation can mean the difference between positive and negative outcomes. What if Miles just sat down with Spot before he decided to go full on villain? Spot could’ve been a crazy powerful hero, and then get the recognition, respect, and support that he wanted.
  • @whowontho
There’s a deleted scene that shows a sequence of Prowler Miles swinging around his city in a Spider-Man-esque manner. It’s a really cool parallel.
  • @BumpyBaluga
Also, i love Chris' poker face during The Spot's monologue, like, "yall have no idea the Avengers level threat he will become.." lol
