  • I haven’t been to too many gamestops recently, but whenever I do there’s always an aura around the employees that they were fed up with their jobs so now I guess I know my gut was right (btw the art and character is great!!!)

    I wish I could say the rest of the games industry were better than Gamestop, but it isn't - I mean, every industry seems to have this kind of stuff, I just know what I've seen personally. Online interactions with gamers as customers take away the physical presence, but there can be thousands of times as many jumping in if it's a hotbutton issue. The bosses mostly become more predatory and Machiavellian as they get closer to the sources of financing, or if they don't have any they become cult leaders relying on exploitation of goodwill. Decent people exist, but they mostly exist by finding a career niche where they can stay heads down in some technical role, and if management is flaky it can still hit them.
