I really liked the new Lion lore. The fact he doesn't stop the hunt for the fallen, but rather just... shows up and spirits away the worthy is very cool

If we’re going Arthurian, he is the Green Knight now

The idea of the Lion basically just diving into forest unsure of where hes even going to go but knowing hes going where hes needed is so badass

I love that they’re using his forest walking to justify successor chapter getting to run him

Lion was super violently angry about not being there to protect the Emperor, so mad I fact, he wanted a fight to the death with Leman Russ. So after driving the traitors into the Eye of Terror he returned to Caliban very short of temper and ready to fight anything that looked at him wrong. Que the attack and only Luther's inner circle knew the truth, but Caliban fired on him and he went full exterminus on everyone. He got a time out slept on it and has come back older and wiser ( I would say the equivalent of 50) and is now ready to play nice with the other kids admitting there was alot if mistakes and such on both side especially him.

I like the idea that some of the Chaplains have figured out who the Companions are, but some of them accept it. The Unforgiven have spent ten millenia hunting their brothers, because they cocluded early that tyey too share the responsibility for their crimes and that they have no authority to offer forgiveness. Grave punishments for all crimes, and only the Lion can. Now, with his return, the hunt continues, so that the Fallen are delivered for him personally.

I find it funny that the Lion's return and actions are playing out exactly like Angels of Darkness novel described him 2008.

Really awesome that they continue his outlook from Son of the Forest. He shows nuance toward the Fallen and seeks to protect, not rule.

Although there is history and room for confrontation with Guilliman, when the Lion first Guilliman was alive, he thought, "I am not alone." Which, shows some humanity but also they may not be as adverse to one another as we are led to believe, especially with the state of the galaxy currently.

The already secretly unified nature of the Unforgiven certainly works in the Lion’s favor when it comes to simply treating the chapters as 30k style companies in his Legion, and he absolutely is in command of them as a legion.

When they brought out the novel, Lion was 😊 then the codex came out and Lion was😎

Finally someone who breaks down the lore well, I love that I can pause and read if I need and I get the story beats, well done Auspex👍🏻

Do now I wonder if this sets the stage for mor "renegade, not heretic" astartes elements.
