I love that you can't use your phone in your car without getting a ticket but it's okay to use the gigantic iPad stuck to your dashboard.
  • @fiftran
road work ahead but car doesn’t 😔
  • Once upon a time it was actually illegal to have a TV type screen in a place where the driver could see it and become distracted, like since 1968.

"I know I'm over romanticizing the past a little bit" No. You're really not. Simplicity is beauty. The analogue tech of cars in the past were more convenient, more reliable, and more beautiful. "Reinventing the wheel" is the perfect way to put it. Like that $4000 airless basketball.

ironically the cybertruck being bulletproof actually makes it more dangerous. Not just because cars are designed to crumple to absorb the impact but also because If you were to get in an accident that made you unable to open the doors, stronger doors and stronger windows means they're harder to break to get you out of the car.

"I definitely think it's worth 100K" Bro, it CAME with rust on it. The copium couldn't be stronger.
  • Cars running strictly on software are a pain in the ass. My friends and I rented a some 2023 Nissan SUV on a hunting trip and took it down the wrong road at 3am and wanted to back up, but it wouldn’t let us reverse on a slope because it was too “steep”. We didn’t have a choice but to drive down the entire road and turn around. What the hell — I should at least have an option to reverse.

Remember that episode of The Simpsons where they let Homer design an $80,000 car that looks weird and has tons of ridiculous features, and it bankrupts the car company?
  • @ThrottleHouse
We used to be a car review channel. Now we review ipads that are attached to four wheels
  • @tay-lore
It honestly warms my heart and restores a little bit of my faith in humanity to see two complete strangers flip you off just for being in that thing
  • The absolute VALIDATION I felt with the deletion of buttons. It made no sense to get rid of physical buttons, until I learned that it’s simply cheaper
  • The thing that got me was that “feature” where they give you “automatic brakes”??? Imagine getting super used to that and then getting in literally any other car.

"its harder to convince people that they have been scammed than actually scamming them"
  • @smajet5640
Anyone else think seeing a flashing red screen while driving would send you into immediate panic and not help at all?
  • @Rawrbagels
The cybertruck is also a literal death trap. A lot of accidents and incidents with cars need people to break the windows to leave. It’s why several car window breaker type products exist. Now if you have highly shatter resistant glass? Yes, burning, drowning, suffocating, bleeding out, etc will all be much more prevalent in the cybertruck.
  • How the cyber truck passed any sort of road safety test or even made it past any regulation is beyond me

I’m imagining his wife at her 9-5 job doing adult stuff while her goofball husband crashes into a very slowly closing gate. Hilarious
  • I’m so happy people who aren’t car enthusiasts are finally understanding how terrible new cars are becoming 😭
  • @Shimeih
Cars are also unnecessarily fast. Tell me why a 4000kg monstrosity needs to do 100kph in 2.5 seconds? I’m a car guy myself but can’t support this. It’s always the reckless, inexperienced clowns speeding down a residential street with kids playing.
